"The DAC 19 is slightly more natural compared to the NFB 1. The NFB 1 is however a balanced DAC and supports DSD.
If you do not need balanced and DSD is not important for you the DAC 19 is fantastic choice. Very organic, smooth and natural sound! The DAC 19 is on stock and most popular.

On the DAC 19 you can have the HDMI input but it will replace the existing USB input, is this what you would like?

In che senso?

Allora ho scritto al Magna hi-fi esprimendo una richiesta riguardo le differenze sonore tra il Sabre e il Dac19. Ho spiegato loro il mio progetto e il modo in cui vorrei far arrivare il segnale i2S al dac (ovvero attraverso la schedina HDmi audio GD). La loro risposta è stata la seguente:

"The sound of the NFB 1 is not cold but I admit and agree the DAC 19 is simply more natural and fluent.
When you want to connect the Raspberry Pi you will need a Master Clock signal for DAC 19 in order to function properly.
The NFB 1 does not need this Master Clock signal becuase it is asynchronous DAC. Much more easier to use.

BUT.....................
If you really want good music form your Pi you should buy the Hifiberry DAC Pro+ board and connect it with I2S out to the DAC 19.
It will have super clocks and very good power supplies onboard separated from Raspberry Pi.
The DAC Pro+ board is ~ 45 Euro and is very good value/price.

If you want I can offer you a Hifiberry Pro+ board with Audio-GD HDMI Output module connected and tested for 75 Euro. (Hifiberry Pro+ 45 euro and HDMI Output 20 Euro)

Perché dovrei aggiungere quel pezzo per far funzionare il dac19 in i2s e se con quello funziona veramente in i2s o alla fine ho fatto una conversione e ho perso qualità nel trasporto...

Io non capisco perché si dovrebbe mettere 2 DAC. Il DAC+ Pro con il DAC 19.

Significa che puoi usare quella acheda come clock per un dac esterno i2s, ma per questo utilizzo la scheda deve hackerata / modificata.

Ecco pronta la risposta Ai nostri dubbi (devo dire questo magna hifi gentilissimo mi ha risposto alle 23):
"If you have already the HDMI Output module http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/diy/I2Skits/HDMISOC.JPG. you are ok but it will not work out of the box with DAC 19.

Let me explain:
DAC 19 i2s input requires I2S+ Master Clock signal.
NFB 1 i2s input requires only I2S (NO master clock)

Raspberry Pi by default only provides I2S (no Master clock)
The Hifiberry Pro+ DAC board can output I2S + Master clock!
You wil not use the analog output of Hifiberry DAC, ony I2S out.
The I2S can be connected to HDMI output module easily, only 4 wires to connect.

The Hifiberry will increase quality a lot becuase it has much better clocks installed compared to the Raspberry clock.
By default the Raspberry uses system clock for i2s out, this is not good if you want high quality.
The Hifiberry will put Raspberry in slave and the audio clocks on Hifiberry board will be master!"

Ma questa cosa del Clock preso dalla scheda HifiBerry Dac+ Pro, riguarda solo il DAC-19 Audio-Gd e presumo tutti quelli con Burr-Brown PCM1704UK ??
Voglio dire, con NFB-1, e quindi i Sabre ES9018, non ce ne è bisogno. Oppure ho capito male ??
