Con l'HD DVD di Harry Potter e L'Ordine della Fenice, debutterà una nuova feature degli HD DVD: l'Online Community.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is throwing a new wrinkle on the current list of web-enabled features when it hits HD DVD next month, as the Live Community Screening feature lets multiple owners watch together and chat during the movie. The host initiates the session by inviting other viewers -- no word on how many people are supported -- and synchronizes the viewing on all machines. Other features we've seen before like IME picture-in-picture track, favorite scenes and ringtone store also tag along, but we'll see if this Xbox Live-style community aspect is a hit with Potter aficionados December 11th.

Harry Potter e l'Ordine della Fenice aggiungerà un nuovo strumento alla lista delle attuali web-enabled features quando arriverà in HD DVD il mese prossimo, poichè la Live Community Screening permetterà a più possessori del film di guardarlo insieme e di chiacchierare in chat durante il film. Chi fa da host inizia la sessione invitando gli altri spettatori - non si sa il numero massimo supportato - e sincronizza la visione su tutte le macchine. Abbiamo visto altre caratatteristiche interattive in passato, come l'IME, la traccia picture in picture, le scene favorite, il negozio online delle suonerie del film, ma per vedere se questa caratteristica simile all'Xbox Live sarà un successo tra i fan di Harry Potter dovremo aspettare l'11 Dicembre.
