Discussione tecnica BD: restauri e trasferimenti da riferimento

Effettivamente ho trovato questa notizia risalente a circa 5 mesi fa:

“…The only reason BARRY LYNDON hasn’t yet made it to Warner Home Video dvd
& Blu-ray is that the elements need re-mastering for the format; because
of the way the film was shot, w/its ultra-sensitive lenses & low light
levels, the film poses a real challenge to master for hi-def. Trust me,
it’ll eventually come out; it’s just a matter of time. Warner Bros.
doesn’t license disc rights to the films they own to outside companies
like Criterion; they feel they can do the job fine themselves, so sit
tight. I met some of the Criterion folks when I went to the Bologna
Film Festival in Italy last month, & they’re terrific; I work with their
television licensing rep in negotiating for their films to be shown on
TCM. & I pick up virtually every single thing they put out, under both
the Criterion & Eclipse labels!”

Questo significa che ci stanno lavorando per bene Qundi non dovrebbe mancare molto.

Nella logica di questa discussione pensavo d'inserire Forrest Gump: non credo che si possa avere un risultato migliore in BD per questo film. Cosa ne pensate?

Restaurato non è. Infatti a parte un pò di spuntinature non c'era nulla da restaurare. Il trasferimento comunque è ottimo. Non credi?

Si ottimo il trasferimento di Forrest Gump,

Però considerando l'età della pellicola,
aggiungerei anche Il Cacciatore,
un trasferimento coi fiocchi,
lì veramente sarebbe impossibile tirare fuori di più.

Si si, Forrest Gump è ottimo, solo che pensavo il thread riguardasse quei film che hanno goduto di restauri e recuperi nel senso tecnico che il cinema riserva a questo tipo di operazioni.
Il fatto di rimanerne fuori non dovrebbe essere traccia di una sottostima per un determinato film, tutt'altro, solo che visto il tipo di elenco che stai creando penso sia una cosa diversa

Il risultato ottenuto con Forrest Gump è davvero di alto livello imho,il materiale di partenza (considerato la resa del BD) evidentemente era talmente buono da non prendere in cosiderazione un eventuale restauro...

In prima pagina c'è la lista dei "restauri",decidi tu Vincent se farne un'altra dei "trasferimenti da riferimento" pre-DI.Mi sembra che gia' una volta ci avevi provato,ma la cosa non aveva avuto un seguito...

Infatti e' utile ricordare,ancora una volta,che i trasferimenti DI sono la massima fedelta' possibile all'originale,ad uso e consumo di chi ancora insiste a giudicare la qualita' video di un Digital Intermediate.Aprii una discussione che imho non fu capita e chiusa,senz'altro Vincent se ne ricordera'.
Dunque,per quel che mi riguarda,aprirei senz'altro una discussione sulla bonta' dei transfer pre-DI.

Il punto, se ben ricordi è che mi sono reso conto che fortunatamente sono pochi i casi in cui il BD non è una traspozione dell'originale
Si trattava più che altro di mosche bianche, senz'altro da segnalare, ma per fortuna pochi rispetto al totale.
Per questo avevo pensato da lasciar stare la cosa. Più che altro sarebbe da fare una lista di BD che non hanno un trasferimento fedele all'originale. In questo modo avremmo 2 liste: una dei restauri e trasferimenti allo stato dell'arte, e un altra in cui il trasferimento non è fedele al film. Tutti gli altri BD si possono considerare dal buono all'ottimo come trasferimento. Cosa ne pensate?

Personalmente credo che una lista di BD "infedeli" (passami il termine) che in un modo o nell'altro non rispettano la pellicola originale sia utile a tutti...

Il film è stato restaurato ma non ho trovato notizie a riguardo. Se qualcuno ha qualche notizia si faccia avanti

P.s. in Italia non l'ho trovato nemmeno in dvd

Per questo avevo pensato da lasciar stare la cosa. Più che altro sarebbe da fare una lista di BD che non hanno un trasferimento fedele all'originale. In questo modo avremmo 2 liste: una dei restauri e trasferimenti allo stato dell'arte, e un altra in cui il trasferimento non è fedele al film. Tutti gli altri BD si possono considerare dal buono all'ottimo come trasferimento. Cosa ne pensate?

Anche se si tratta di un film girato quasi interamente in digitale credo sia interessante fare un confronto tra le 2 edizioni distribuite.
