Update HOLO3D

Ciao a tutti,
su consiglio di Peter, il quale ringrazio, ho installato i nuovi Catalyst 3.0 ed upgradato il vecchio driver della Holo3D con il nuovo v1.6j.

Ho riscontrato che nel menu SETUP della Holo ci sono nuove applicazioni di cui non conosco il significato e tantomeno il tipo di utilizzo.
Mi rivolgo a coloro che dispongono della Holo e vorranno aiutarmi, le variazioni riscontrate sono le seguenti:

OSD: "Shutdown"
SETUP IMPUT : "Imput swith Blanking (normal)" e " Daughterboard(none)"
SETUP PICTURE: "Sidebox Color (Black)" e "Orbit (off)"

i valori indicati tra parentesi sono i valori di default.

al di là delle voci in più sulle quali non so darti aiuto (la prima voce se non ricordo male risolveva un piccolo bug ai possessori di daughterboard quando switchavano da altre sorgenti), che mi dici della qualità video? Noti migliorie?

ciao Peter,
sostanziali migliorie a mio parere, con la taratura di riferimento che mi avevi indicato, con i 2.3 avevo colori troppo accentuati che sbordavano (soprattutto i rossi) e che mi costringevano ad una notevole diminuzione saturation su Holo (-20), inoltre nelle immagini molto contrastate avevo un pò di solarizzazione.
Con i 3.0 ho al contrario riscontrato colori più morbidi, ed il valore della Holo l'ho potuto finalmente riportare a "0", e sono scomparse le solarizzazioni. A mio parere il quadro complessivo ne guadagnato parecchio, inoltre l'immagine mi sembra maggiormente contrastata e profonda. Ottimi davvero!!

Sto per fare un upgrade al Pc con Holo3D sostituendo la Radeon Ve con la 9500 Catalyst 3.0 Driver Holo v1.6j e DirectX9 ma non riesco a trovare le DirectX9 on line da scaricare senza fare l'installazione con collegamento on line? Sapete dove posso trovarle?
Per le spiegazioni delle nuove funzioni date dai driver aggiornati dell Holo sono tutte nel forum del sito immersive del quale adesso non trovo il Link............

grazie Luca per la dritta, ho consultato il forum della immersive, però non c'è nessuna menzione circa l'update nè tantomeno circa il significato e l'utilizzo delle nuove applicazioni.
Provo in questo post a chiedere aiuto a lucaV, Linomatz ed Alberto Andreoli, nella speranza che possano darmi qualche indicazione in merito.

(Jan 26) Version 1.6k Changes:

Added "Chroma Swap" and "Chroma Odd" settings to Setup Menu-> Setup Input. (Also forcefully initializes these settings upon startup)
Note: If you are getting green screens or a photo-negative image, this will likely help you.
(Dec 19) Version 1.6j Changes:
Simplified Input Switch Menu. Everytime you press MENU button (or spacebar on keyboard), the Input Select menu will now be opened by default. Also, the menu is also less cluttered by default too.
Note: Also solves the 3-spacebar-press issue reported by G_ROM
Note2: To make previously selected menu reappear instead, use ENTER key or OK button.

Input Menu is now reconfigurable via the Setup Menu to enable/disable rarely used inputs. By default, Composite-R, Composite-G and Composite-B are now removed from this menu to reduce clutter. To change how you want the Input menu to look, go to Setup Menu -> Setup Input -> Main Inputs. (This is very similiar to configuring the daughterboard)

Daugherboard users now have the option to display all possible daugherboard input combinations, useful for people who use a switcher to allow dual-purpose use of SDI and Composite on the same input. To do so, go to Setup Meni -> Setup Input -> Daughterboard and then select "List All Possible Inputs".

Further tweaks made to LUT. Apparently, my LUT tweaks in 1.6h benefited some users (less stuttering during bright scenes) but some users occasionally experienced 'green noise horizontal lines' every few minutes. This tweak should now eliminate these without degrading the benefits.

DirectX initialization retry extended to 30 seconds.
For users experiencing DirectX initialization issues if HOLO3D used in StartUp

(Nov 29) Version 1.6e Changes:
FAST STARTUP: Much faster, near-instant startup time!
(Originally, whole configuration file was loaded at startup. With daughterboard, the config file more than doubled. I have now changed this to a on-demand cache mechanism. This new cache is the reason of near-instant startup.

DAUGHTERBOARD: Now reselects daughterboard input upon startup.

ORBIT: Orbit now doesn't jump prematurely while adjusting settings such as aspect ratio.

Auto Load Settings has been disabled again, so Version 1.6b resolution-change behaviour is used again now.

Reinitializes video overlay colorkey. May avoid the rare black screen on certain startups.
(Nov 27) Version 1.6c Changes - BETA Maintenance Release:
SECAM support. You will have to turn off AutoFormat (for now) to select SECAM.

SHUTDOWN menu item, via "Setup UI" in Setup Menu

DAUGHTERBOARD support! To select daughterboard configuration, go to Setup Menu -> Setup Format -> Daughterboard. This will add the extra inputs to your main Input select menu.

Confirmation dialog boxes now allows you to press numeric 1 key for equivalent of "YES", and numeric 0 key for equivalent of "NO". This is useful for macros. (Resolution confirm dialog, Shutdown confirm dialog)

More DirectShow is reinitialization everytime input is switched or resolution is switched. This maintains picture settings better and /may/ prevent unexpected picture changes, especially when changing resolutions. You can disable this by turning off Setup Menu -> Setup Format -> Auto Load Settings.

Should now work on Chinese Windows systems

Setup Menu Discrete remote control codes (<INS> or <REC> ) now works on first try immediately after startup. Some users reported that <INS>902 did not work unless entered a second time until the software has been used for a bit. Also inccorect behaviour on second try has been fixed too.

Note #1: Change of driver policy: If your current drivers work don't upgrade. However, if you get any video problems OR you use a daughterboard, please upgrade to the latest BETA2 drivers dated 11-Nov-2002. Download them here.
Note #2: Install this on top of your existing HOLO3D installation. Don't uninstall first. If you are nervous of losing picture settings, make a backup your HOLO3D.INI file (from where you installed HOLO3D).
Note #3: New users should go to www.immersiveinc.com/holofiles to download the full install of Version 1.6 first.

No Peter, ho solo fatto il semplice accesso dal sito, non essendo abbonato, chissà cosa volevo mai pretendere!!
Comunque grazie al buon Linomatz per il trasferimento delle informazioni, ho sempre la solita pecca del mio inglese molto "basic", comunque ci lavorerò sopra.
A proposito, ho visto che c'è comunque una versione più aggiornata della 1.6j, ed è la 1.6k del 27 Gennaio, però nel sito immersive non l'ho ancora vista, ne sai niente?

registrati sul sito Immersive, fai un post richiedendo l'accesso all'area riservata e Tom Strade nel giro di un paio di giorni ti abilita l'accesso al forum privato, che è una miniera di informazioni e una linea diretta con programmatori e progettisti.
Lì troverai tutto.
Della versione dell'altroieri non so nulla, troppo recente.

Sai cos'è successo? Che io gli ho chiesto se guardava nel forum privato nello stesso istante (guarda l'ora) in cui tu hai fatto il tuo messaggio.
Poi io sono tornato sul forum un'ora dopo, ho cliccato sulla freccetta che fa vedere il primo messaggio non letto e ho visto quello sotto il mio (dove Stefano diceva di non essere iscritto), e senza tornare più sopra, dato che il primo messaggio non letto risultava appunto il mio, ho incollato dal messaggio di Mark!
