Ma se io quando mi arriva non monto l'hard disk interno cosa si perde in funzionabilità praticamente cosa non si può fare grazie

4) Non ho niente per provare, ma a mio avviso non usare questo apparecchio per vedere i DVD, molto meglio un normale lettore dedicato.

L'unica cosa da tenere presente è che naturalmente dovrai prevedere comunque una fonte di immagazzinamento dati che può essere esterna (es. Hdd esterno) oppure usare direttamente il pc (in Streaming) per mezzo del WIFI o della LAN.

Before starting the procedure of emergency recovery - Please make sure you are using the AV RCA cables and not HDMI.
Some TV HDCP protocols may cause problem to show the procedure on TV.
(1) Download the file Xtreamer Emergency
(2) Extract the file install.img (120 mb)
(3) Copy the “install.img” file to the root of the USB flash memory or HDD inside Xtreamer.
(4) Take out the unit out of the electricty power on the wall. wait 10 sec. Bring it back to the power
(5) In Remote control, press “Home” -> “3” -> “Power” not any other sequence.
No need to use power first. Any other sequence will fail and nothing will happen as the call for this procedure is initiated by HOME button pressed first...Keep it pressed + press 3 + press power until you see the process starts.
If the firmware is not in the root of the USB the process will fail as the process seek the .img in the USB root.
Process Emergency upgrade should be visible on the screen if done correct.
Please note : After “intro” screen, if system boots without further update procedure, re-try emergency firmware update while powering-off the unit. It means you did not do it in the correct way. PRESS the HOME first and after 3 and after POWER while the unit is OFF.

riporto quanto scritto sul forum ufficiale.
in sintesi se colleghi l'antenna USB con un cavo aggiuntivo al Xtreamer, il cavo fa da antenna amplificando il segnale

so YES the USB cable makes antenna !
yesterday the extension cable was only 10cm long.
I moved the antenna around now and can even reach up to 1.8Mb/s.

C'è comunque un modo per velocizzare il wi-fi usando la fakeshell per aprire il file:
Edit /usr/local/daemon/samba/lib/smb.conf
e cambiare da:
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192
a:
socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_SNDBUF=32768 SO_RCVBUF=32768
non ho ancora provato però.

Dubito di questa tua affermazione in quanto io ho Fastweb ed ho una chiave WPA2 di lettere e numeri e non ho trovato nessun problema nel poter inserire la mia password, utilizzando quella tastiera che appare sullo schermo TV....:fiufiu:
Naturalmente salvo cambiamenti nel firmware 2.0.2 in quanto io sono ancora fermo sulla versione 1.0.3.1

Questa è la procedura giusta:
Network--> Wireless setup--> Connection 1-->Get SSID Name (qui scegli la tua rete wifi e schiacci il tasto "Enter" del telecomando)-->Si apre il riquadro WPA Key e qui trovi la tastiera a video con lettere e numeri...inserisci la password della tua rete wifi e poi pigi il tasto OK che vedi a video (ovviamente schiacciando il tasto "Enter" del telecomando.
Dopodichè Xtreamer farà il test di connessione e si assegnerà un indirizzo IP tramite DHCP.
...finito.
