First HD-DVD players may be delayed
A number of reputable websites have been reporting over the weekend that the first players to use the next-generation 'HD-DVD' technology may be delayed for both Japan and the US.
Toshiba, HD-DVD's most high-profile supporter, has previously said it hoped to get the first HD-DVD players in stores before Christmas - but now it looks like this will slip to some unspecified date in 2006, with the exact date depending on 'talks with Hollywood studios and large-scale retailers'.
We should say that Toshiba representatives at a press conference during the current IFA technology show in Berlin claimed no knowledge of the possible HD-DVD delay - but intriguingly the press packs to accompany the conference weren't available (we still don't have one) because of some 'last minute adjustments'.
If HD-DVD does arrive late, it could significantly erode its 'first out of the traps' advantage over arch-rival, Blu-Ray..."
Temo quindi ci sia più di una difficoltà.................
C'e' da sperare che sotto questi continui contrattempi, ci sia in realta' il desiderio con tanto di trattative segrete, per arrivare al tanto auspicabile e desiderato formato unico, questa si che sarebbe una bella notizia .......
