Immagine iso fatta convertendo la cartelle VIDEO_TS con il programmino Folder2Iso...purtroppo non ho esperienze con linux.
Se poi ti si blocca in un punto in particolare...dammi maggiori dettagli.

qualche problema con i file audio
Salve a tutti,
oggi ho istallato il nuovo med500 (senza HD) acquistato dopo aver letto lungamente questa discussione.
Appena piazzato ho provato a riprodurre dei file video MKW con esito positivo. A quel punto ho aggiornato il firmware al V4 beta5 (di default caricava la V3.0.4) ed ho fatto un'altra prova di riproduzione, questa volta di file musicali in formato FLAC... e qui sono iniziati i problemi!
Ne suona 2 o 3 e la qualità audio non sarebbe mica male, ma poi si blocca e non ne vuol più sapere. Spegnendo e riaccendendo stessa cosa. Per gli MKW invece rimane tutto ok.
Come collegamento vado in HDMI al TV e tramite due RCA all'ampli, settaggi HDMI output e SPDIF output entrambi su downmix 2CH.
I file della prova sono caricati su un HD da 2,5' collegato al med500 tramite USB.
Si accettano suggerimenti perchè mi sento un po' frustato... era il mio regalo di Natale

Questa è la bug list presente sulla V4Beta5...vi ricordo che siamo in attesa della V4 definitiva che apporterà un aggiornamento SDK specifico per i problemi audio da voi riscontrati...ma che sono gia risaputi.
Se ne sentite la necessità, potete tranquillamente fare un rollback alla versione 3.0.4 che sicuramente mostra meno problemi sull'audio veicolato sull'uscita ottica e coassiale.

1] No PCM audio on on SPDIF /Co-Ax Digital. Extra notes from Dextro:

25] Some movies when started from video wall only have sound for a few seconds. Pausing and re-starting makes no difference but skipping forward 1 chapter and back again gives sound ok. These are full dvd rip to iso - nothing removed from original. All work ok from media library. [logged by Shamus]

35] (Intermittend): Some of my Divx movies have scratchy sound. Not all of them but some of them and they did not have it in previous versions. Using HDMI Passthrough. (logged by Ricardo).
Extra comment on this by MarioB: I've also noticed this. My audio setting is HDMI downmix. For example, if I play a Movie or TV Show and press skip on the remote sometimes after sound start to play again it's "scratchy" with a lot of noise. If I press pause and play again or skip, or jump to another location in the file everything is OK again. This happens randomly...
37] [Spdif sound]: when putting settings on spdif passtrough, music files are not decoding right. Getting a multi channel signal on 2 channel music files. When I want to play music I have to put te settings to downmix to get sound, when in passthrough setting I get digital hiss. When playing flac files with settings to digital passtrough works fine. When playing mp3 files does not work and have to switch settings to 2 channel downmix. Using passthrough gives digital noice/hiss. (logged by rolandvb) This might be related to bug [1].
38] Mede8er not consistent on labeling external hard disk via usb. When 2 usb disks are attached, the path is random giving C: and D: This gives problems when adding shortcuts for the Video Wall. Possible solution: Video Wall should look for Hard Disk Label name and not hard disk drive letter. (logged by Auren)
39] Getting intermittend message on tv "Audio data error - too slow" when playing mp4's. These played ok with 3.0.4 (logged by Shamus)
41] Internet Radio by SPDIF "passtrough" worked fine in 3.04. Now in 4B4 I have to set it to "downmix 2ch" to get sound when playing mp3 files on Internet radio.
42] HD Audio on DD+ unit: DTS-MA and TrueHD bitstream fine in BDMV (Blu-ray structure) or remuxed m2ts, though TrueHD is reported as MLP 2ch when pressing the in info button. (Onkyo displays DTS-MA and Dolby-TrueHD)
DTS-MA does not bitstream inside mkv container, only the DTS core is bitstreamed (Onkyo displays DTS).
TrueHD does not bistream inside mkv container and no audio is played back at all, not even Dolby Digital core.The audio is reported as an unsupported audio format.
Multichannel FLAC inside an mkv plays back as stereo.

43] There seems to be a 1024 kb filesize limit on about.jpg. When browsing in about.jpg zoom mode, about.jpg files that are bigger then 1MB don't show, while they showed on previous 3.0.4 version. However on Video Wall, the about.jpg file bigger then 1024 kb are showing.
45] Using Wifi connection with dongle: Internet time still is only synced when selected from the setup menu, not after the USB wireless make a network connection. (logged by leuk_he)

Locandine
Vi capita di tanto intanto che durante la navigazione tra una locandina (Fatta con Thumbgen) il Medx500 si pianti e ti costringa a riavviarlo?
A me capita ongi volta che sto li a sfogliarmi locandine e trame alla ricerca di un film che mi piaccia.
E' un problema risaputo se sempre in via di soluzione o che?

Prima di passare alle domande voglio augurare a tutti un buon Natale e buon anno. E' stato un anno difficile per me, mi avete tutti "distratto" dai miei problemi. Un oggetto come il MEDE è bello conprarlo anche per forum come questi.
Quindi grazie a chi mi ha letto, risposto e soprattutto ... sopportato.
Poi voglio informarvi che purtroppo (per Voi) non mi vedrete a trafficare sul firmware moddato per BR pieni: ho trovato lavoro. (sempre se non mi cacciano prima ...).
Domanda utile per tutti, soprattutto nuovi e futuri utenti.
L'HDD consigliato per questo player è il Samsung ecogreen 3. Io ho un WD caviar green da 2T e non ho problemi, ma qualcuno sul forum della casamadre ha avuto un po' di noie .. vi rimando ai post precedenti.
Sto per costruire un PC nuovo, userei il WD da 2T per questo PC, comprerei l'ecogreen 3 per sostituirlo nel MEDE8ER.

A proposito di locandine,da alcuni giorni ho un problemino con ThumbGen,nella finestra Backdrops non vengono più caricate le miniature da salvare nel Template di Moviesheet Editor,utilizzo la versione ThumbGen 1.2.2 con le impostazioni della guida di Bad...

Nel senso che forse ti trovi nella schermata Own Movie Snapshots o Existing Items e quindi semplicemente non vedi le miniature...
Se non è questo il caso, ti consiglio di ricontrollare se le impostazioni sono rimaste le stesse...magari dopo qualche update da parte del programma potrebbero essere variati.
In ultima analisi, reinstalla il NET Framework 3.5 SP1 sul pc perchè è probabile che si sia corrotto.
A proposito di update ora siamo alla versione 1.2.2.9 di ThumbGen

...comunque ti consiglio di convertire tutte le cartelle VIDEO_TS dei tuoi DVD in immagini ISO...per 2 motivi:
1- sono piu pratiche da gestire (è un solo file);
2- il Mede8er le riconosce come file video e con un clic del telecomando le mandi in esecuzione.
...inoltre a volte a me è capitato che lanciando il DVD dal file .ifo non riuscisse a beccare il Menu principale, cosa che con la iso non è mai successo.
1- sono piu pratiche da gestire (è un solo file);
2- il Mede8er le riconosce come file video e con un clic del telecomando le mandi in esecuzione.
...inoltre a volte a me è capitato che lanciando il DVD dal file .ifo non riuscisse a beccare il Menu principale, cosa che con la iso non è mai successo.

Nel mio caso non utilizzo il videowall ma la navigazione per cartellina.
Quindi visualizzo una sola cartellina e locandina per volta.
Nonostante questo ogni tanto il medx500 si pianta e devo staccare la corrente. Non ho ancora capito se è casuale o che?

Quindi visualizzo una sola cartellina e locandina per volta.
Nonostante questo ogni tanto il medx500 si pianta e devo staccare la corrente. Non ho ancora capito se è casuale o che?

Ciao Fabio, il blocco avviene sempre quando il Mede8er deve sfogliare attraverso la rete e succede semplicemente perchè non trova subito il file about.jpg o folder.jpg nella cartella. Questa cosa l'ho potuta verificare confrontando il comportamento che il Mede8er ha quando invece sfoglia dall'hard disk interno o da uno esterno...in questo caso la stessa struttura delle cartelle che contengono i film non genera nessun blocco.
Io ho capito che ha bisogno di piu tempo quando legge sulla rete e di conseguenza se si sfoglia troppo velocemente...puo succedere che il player si blocchi.

Quando tu dici: inoltre in questa versione 1.2.2 in Current Layout ho impostato default,la voce mede8er non c'è... cosa intendi ? Che prima lo vedevi il profilo del Mede8er ?
Il profilo Mede8er lo vedi solo nella schermata iniziale, ma nel menu di rendering l'unico profilo è "Default".
Comunque ascolta a zio Bad...installa la 3.5 del NET Framework SP1 e vedrai che il problema si risolve.
