Buongiorno a tutti!
I don't speak Italian but I can understand up to 70% when reading it. I have MDR-DS7500 and will get a new MDR-HW700DS next week. If you compare official press releases of both models (7500s vs. 700s), you''ll see that their hardware (voice coil, sound driver, etc.) is nearly the same. The new model has following additional features:
- new design
- new 2x DSP
- new virtual surround algorithm DTS: Neo X (up to virtual 9.1) instead of DTS: Neo 6. Dolby PLIIz (up to virtual 9.1) is still there. Dolby PLIIx is gone.
- Dual Band Wireless (2,4 and 5 GHz). Transmission modes are 2,4 only, 5 only or auto.
- Pass-through function for 4K/UltraHD video content in stand-by mode
- OSD (On-Screen Display), providing information about input audio format, number of channels, battery status, etc.
- Up to 4x headphones (7500: up to 3x) can be connected to the sound processor (one needs to buy additional headphones)
- Charging of headphones via microUSB. Using them and charging at the same time is possible.
- Simultaneous audio output: headphones and TV speakers at the same time. Standard setting: Sound output through headphones only.
- Stealth mode: LEDs on the front panel of the sound processor are off after 3 seconds
- (Not sure about that as I just translated this information from the manual): Output different soundtracks (say Italian and English) in different ear pads (English to the left one, Italian to the right one).
Battery life has been reduced to 12 hours. It should be enough considering that you can keep using them during charging. Unfortunately, 700s don't support DSD/MLP (SACD/DVD-Audio) output over HDMI, neither do 7500s.
It's a quick-start guide. The online-manual for MDR-HW700DS is here. It's in Japanese but you can easily translate it using built-in translator of Google Chrome. Don't search for English or other versions of the manual 'cause they don't exist.
You don't believe such BS (bulls*it), right? How can a new model with nearly the same hardware and some useful additional features be that bad? ;-)

Per le HW700DS ho trovato una versione "ridotta" del manuale, ovviamente sempre in giapponese, ma che risulta piuttosto comprensibile grazie ai numerosi disegni. Si può scaricare da qui.
