Dopo diverse vicissitudini affrontate con il Vfd iMon SoundGraph del mio case Silverstone LC16M che credevo guasto e che invece a sorpresa è ripartito grazie a due fili risaldati, mi sono avanzati dei pezzi praticamente intatti.

Rassegnato al peggio, avevo acquistato un nuovo ricevitore ir ed un nuovo display lcd che sono rimasti inutilizzati. Mai usciti dallo scatolo. Li ho acquistati l'uno negli Stati Unite e l'altro in Francia attraverso gli eBay di questi paesi. Unica piattaforma accettata per l'Italia da questi fornitori (no Amazon, no siti ufficiali).
Nel mese e mezzo di attesa per riceverli ho scoperto che il mio dispositivo era ancora funzionante.

L'Inteset PC-IRS5-01 è l'unico ricevitore ir sul mercato che abbia connessione usb, piena compatibilità con Windows 7/8/10 e che sia capace di accendere il vostro pc da spento;
Il display è multicolore a 16 x 2 linee, anch'esso comodamente usb.

Per entrambi in tutto ho speso 87 €. Voi potrete averlo a 57 €, comprensivo di spese di spedizione. Non smembro.
Io ho aspettato un mese e mezzo, voi potreste avere tutto in due giorni.

Our exclusive, all new PC-IRS5-01 - Wake-from-Off, IR Receiver, allows home theater PC (HTPC) owners to easily turn on their system from a complete off state using a standard universal infrared remote control. Both Windows and Linux HTPC owners can enjoy a true consumer electronics experience. Until now, wake from off (S5) via IR was achievable only using special motherboards. The PC-IRS5-01 gives nearly all consumer motherboards this capability and with no special BIOS settings to configure or third party drivers to install. The IR receiver works directly with native Windows eHome and Linux LIRC drivers to provide full control of home theater applications such as Windows Media Center, Kodi (XBMC) and MediaPortal using a typical RC6 IR remote. How it Works:

The PC-IRS5-01 functions based on a simple concept that works with nearly all consumer motherboards. Most consumer motherboards are equipped with a “power header.” This power header allows both an on/off switch and a power status LED to be attached to it. The IRS5 uses a simple “Y cable” that inter-connects between the power header and the on/off switch and LED. This cable allows the IRS5 to sense when the computer is on or off based on the state of the LED. If the LED is off, the IRS5 knows to turn the system on and visa-versa. The user simply presses the IR remote’s power button and the IRS5 will determine whether to turn the system on or off. The IRS5 is powered by either a separate 5 volt power adaptor (the same as most cell phones), or by an internal USB header that maintains power while the computer is in the off state. Once the computer is on and fully booted into the operating system, the IRS5 communicates with the OS via the USB port to control the compatible software. That’s it!

Description

Il n'a jamais été aussi facile d'ajouter un afficheur caractère à vos projets microcontroleur, votre Raspberry-Pi ou votre PC depuis qu'Adafruit à sorti son "backpack USB et/ou TTL série"! Le backpack est une carte spécialement réalisé par AdaFruit, carte qui vient se placer à l'arrière d'un afficheur LCD 'standard' (16x2 ou 20x4) et réalise toutes les opérations dont vous avez besoin comme: afficher du texte, réaliser un défilement automatique (scrolling), activer et configurer le rétro-éclairage, ajuster le contrast, créer des caractères perso, activer ou désactiver le curseur, etc. Il peut même contrôler le rétro-éclairage RGB avec un contrôle PWM 8-bit (de quoi créer un nombre incalculable de couleur de rétro-éclairage: rouge, vert, bleu, rose, blanc, pourpre jaune, vert bouteille, saumon, ... ou désactiver le rétro-éclairage).

Le backpack utilise le composant AT90USB162 qui founit le support USB et Série au backpack. La carte attend des commande sur le port USB mini-B ou les fils de la liaison série. L'interface USB est vue par les PC Windows/Mac/Linux comme un port COM/série. Le backpack selectionne automatiquement la source de donnée USB ou série active.La connexion via USB fonctionne à tout les débits. La connexion série TTL utilise le débit par défaut de 9600 mais vous pouvez envoyer une commande pour fixer le débit à 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 28800 ou 57600 baud.
Le débit apparait sur le LCD pendant une seconde lors de la mise sous tension).
Toutes les modifications de paramètres tels que le débit, lumière la couleur du rétro-éclairage, la luminosité, le splash screen, etc sont stockés de façon permanente dans l'EEPROM.

L'interface de commande (les ordres qui peuvent être envoyés sur le connexion série/usb en plus du texte) est compatible avec les spécifications des populaires "Matrix Orbital" specifications. La backpack fonctionnera parfaitement avec les applications informatiques ou les bibliothèques prévues pour un afficheur à matrice (Matrix) comme "LCD Smartie" (par exemple). AdaFruit à ajouter quelques commandes complémentaires pour le contrôle du rétro-éclairage RGB et la définition de la taille du LCD. Si vous ne voulez pas utiliser ces commandes, il suffit d'envoyer des caractères ASCII vers le LCD et ce que vous taperez apparaîtra par comma par magie.

Ce mini-kit est composé de mini-3 éléments: Le Backpack AdaFruit USB+Série, un afficheur LCD positif 16x2 RGB et une rangée de pinHeader. Le LCD doit être souder sur le backpack en utilisant le pinHeader. Cette opération est assez facile, même pour un débutant, mais nécessite néanmoins l'usage d'un fer à souder.
