PS: spero che il mio non sia un tema "proibito" per una discussione ufficiale, leggendo il regolamento mi pare di no.. ma in caso fatemi sapere che edito subito e sposto in quella non ufficiale.
sono interessato all'oggetto della discussione, volevo sapere dai possessori se qualcuno ha già avuto modo di provare l'interfaccia remota per iphone/ipod touch.
a casa infatti uso un (ht)pc e la musica su itunes la "comando" via remote, senza accendere TV e rotture di scatole. La cosa funziona molto bene, però ci sono sempre dei ma (se itunes è chiuso devo iniziare a sbattermi, vorrei controllare anche la parte video, ecc.)
ora ho visto questo oggettino che sembrerebbe avere un controllo via web server sviluppato appositamente per iphone/ipt e la cosa mi aggraderebbe molto. volevo sapere se qualcuno l'ha provato/può provarlo e dirmi se funziona bene? in particolare:
- si vedono le preview delle copertine degli album? e la tracklist?
- Si vedono le info sui film, attori, ecc?
- i comandi stop play pausa ecc "rispondono" bene o è meglio usare il telecomando una volta scelto l'album?

Sto valutando l'acquisto dell'xtreamer.
Volevo sapere se è possibile collegare alle uscite audio delle casse passive ed utilizzarle senza tv. Ovvero: collegare l'xtreamer alla tv tramite hdmi ed utilizzarlo per vedere film/video etc. Inoltre vorrei collegare l'xtreamer a 2 casse passive: gli mp3 li selezionerei utilizzando il tv, normalmente, ma vorrei successivamente spegnerlo per poter sentire la musica senza dover lasciare accesa la tv.
Ovviamente è necessario che l'xtreamer faccia anche da amplificatore...

Impossibilità aggiornamento firmware
Per prima cosa un saluto a tutto il forum, ho acquistato lo Xtreamer ieri e ho visto che aveva il firmware 2.0.1 ho subito scaricato l'ultimo dal sito il 2.1.3 e dopo averlo decompresso ho copiato il file sulla root di una pendrive USB.
Ho seguito la procedura descritta sul sito e dopo aver selezionato il file e schiacciato enter sul telecomando lo Xtreamer si riavvia, appare una schermata iniziale con il logo iniziale d'Xtreamer poi lo schermo diventa nero e la spia del power comincia a lampeggiare in giallo, penso starà aggiornando il firmware la cosa va avanti per 15-20 minuti e la spia non smette di lampeggiare e l'Xtreamer non si riavvia, con un po di paura tolgo la corrente e provo a riaccenderlo non è successo niente la versione è sempre la 2.0.1.
Ho provato diverse volte anche con firmware più recenti del mio ma inferiori al 2.1.3 niente sempre lo stesso risultato e come se dopo che si riavvia non riesca a leggere il file dalla pendrive, ho provato anche ad aggiornarlo da HD esterno usb ma è sempre la stessa cosa, non so più cosa fare.
Un'altra domanda ho provato a leggere una Iso di un Bluray è partito il film senza problemi però non riesco a visualizzare il menu per cambiare la lingua e se schiaccio il tasto per andare avanti di un capitolo mi passa invece sul file successivo contenuto sull'HD esterno.

ciao ragazzi, ero indeciso se prendere questo prodotto xtreamer oppure il wd-tv live , a me interessa piena compatibilita' divx-mkv-vob con DTS e leggendomi tutto ho visto che lo fa anche bene , a parte il discorso wi-fi secondo voi come provessore interno e' meglio il wd-tv live o questo ? grazie
Risolto problema aggiornamento firmware
Incredibile ho risolto il problema leggendo sul sito dell'Xtreamer che su alcuni tv il chip del hdcp poteva bloccare l'aggiornamento allora ho provato collegandolo in videocomposito e ha funzionato perfettamente, l'unico problema rimane l'impossibilità di visualizzare i menu dalle Iso dei bluray.

Dovrebbe essere meglio xtreamer, visto che ha il Chipset Realtek 1283 contro il Chipset sigma 8655 del WD che è più vecchio, ma poi dipende molto dal software dell'apparecchio.AV1970 ha detto:
Da qualche mese il codice di xtreamer è stato reso pubblico, questa secondo me è una grande notizia, visto che anche in passato apparecchi come Popcorn hanno fatto felici i possessori per le possibilità sviluppate da terzi più che per le caratteristiche hardware del player.

We would like to clarify something for those of you who do not follow our forum closely and might worry that we have abandoned our product development.
1. Xtreamer
As you know our player is based on a Realtek chipset and quite recently they released a new SDK. What does that mean for the Xtreamer project? Well, it will be a major step in the Xtreamer media player development. You will see new bug fixes and new features.
Hopefully this blog entry will give you a little idea what to expect - blog.php/?p=318
As I said this is a major update and the development will take several weeks.
There will also be beta releases.
2. e-TRAYz
We are planning to release a beta of the new eTRAYz firmware in a few days. If the beta-testers won't find any major red flags you will see the new version next week.

[UPDATE] Movie Jukebox, IPCam… anybody home?
Hey folks! It’s been a while since I wrote the last blog entry so I should start with nothing less than a feature, which almost everyone is longing for. Admins and some Global Moderators had a meeting today and we had been given the chance to get a peek on the progress of the so much anticipated movie jukebox.
First of all: Geeez… they have been REALLY working on it!!! What they’ve shown to us, gave me a feeling of satisfaction, relief and a lot of hope at once for the upcoming weeks until firmware v3 will be released. It encouraged me to believe that the wait will be worth and that they are still on the right track, showing us, that they DO listen to community feedback. Okay, enough of the apple-polishing
If you know me then you know that I belong to those guys pushing this jukebox thingy because I really want it, g.. damn it
As you may have guessed, the details are still confidential and we can’t give you specific details because the work is still in progress so even we (GMs) don’t know how it will look in the end. They presented a movie jukebox concept to us. Not on paper, not on images, no… it was a video capture of an actual Xtreamer running this new jukebox. One thing I can tell for sure: the way you are used to navigate through your Xtreamer GUI will change… it won’t be the reinvention of the wheel but I like the changes quite much.
Still remember that Let’s talk about a Movie Jukebox thread? Cover wall, search, indexing… it’s there, right in that concept demo video. Xtreamer team…give it the final polish and make it look pretty and fancy and stuff with all your passion put into its design and functionality. Only then, we, the community will stop nagging!
Any news on the IPCam? Well, admins have been very careful with leaking information recently. We talked about it today and I can tell that it will be capable of streaming up to 1080p h.264 video content to your Xtreamer or… well, that’s a secret they should present to you themselves!.. it looks like the Xtreamer team is very proud and excited about their new toy and even the e-TRAYz team seems to be positive about what their colleagues created. The IPCam is an addition to expand the functionality of your Xtreamer. It’s all about the Xtreamer, we should not forget this or even think that they would neglect our little gadget for new toys!
Yeah, I know what you want to ask now… WHEN??? Let’s ask the crystal ball… all those leaked infos and rumours about Sidewinder, new SDK, new firmware, new Xtreamer Pro… they all rumoured to be revealed in Q1, 2010. At least the Sidewinder should be ready for the online shop the coming days, it’s about time, don’t let the people wait any longer! The CeBIT will take place in two months (March) so it’s just a logic thing to expect the announcement of the IPCam and (maybe) the Xtreamer Pro at the CeBIT. Just guessing.

Xtreamer forums removed from MPC
As promised, we would explain a bit why we decided to remove the Xtreamer forums and have Xtreamer discussions moved to the "generic" discussion in the section "Other realTek based players". The main reason would be that I don't feel Xtreamer / Unicorn / MViX is making any efforts to become a serious brand capable of maintaining a proper relationship with the community (one sided only). Although some might argue this is untrue due to their constant actions and activities, updates and more... I would advice those fans to look at the content of these actions which often are tailored to promote the products, overstate the products, carefully construct statements about their products finesse without facts and stories that can't be considered "lies" nor "truth", abusing the general understanding of people on "green products or open source".
Although we still feel Xtreamer is good bang for buck (for the player, not the NAS), the product on it's own will not last without a firm company policy behind it to cover support and communications, build a future with their customers on a balanced level. There we feel the motherload of partners involved with Xtreamer products is failing 100% (especially Unicorn / MViX but also Xtreamer itself in their attitude). I came to the conclusion that Xtreamer is all about overdoing stuff and not a "stable" brand to recon with or price / value wise so different from other options and the combined release with Unicorn / MViX, known to fail support since long time, only damages our believe further in Xtreamer...
Conflicting messages are what concerns me the most where Xtreamer seems to be created to avoid the bad name Unicorn MViX has made for itself over the years with MViX players and the MBoX NAS, which now seems similar to Xtreamer and the eTrayz NAS. Whilst Xtreamer responded to our concerns on future support, Unicorn has nothing to do with Xtreamer and is just a silent partner, their statements and missions state "Xtreamer.Net was founded with the compelling mission of being a leading provider of comprehensive media center, netbooks and NAS solutions made by or with Unicorn Korea for global market." In addition, when appealing to Unicorn about MViX support updates, their CEO stated "All our resources are working on Xtreamer updates" and those releases are still poor in content in my humble opinion. The combination of these only leads me to be more convinced, unicorn is not capable of supporting MViX products and will likely fail to handle Xtreamer properly, especially there is competition in the lower price region with Mede8er, WDTV2 and the upcoming A-200 solution from Syabas below €200 as far as media players are concerned.
While we don't seek to ban or damage Xtreamer completely in any way, we would like to clearly state such behavior or lies to trigger sales, dubious constructions and pushing behavior as depicted by Xtreamer for the past months is unacceptable to the "real" community. While making overstatements to have people look at the positive side of the products only is part of commercial attitude nowadays for all brands, the way Xtreamer does it is "over the top" and unacceptable. Without going into further details or cause a discussion running up into hundreds of pages between pros and con groups... this is the decision and opinion I made for MPC Club based on my experience and findings on Xtreamer in general and as a result of that decided to minimize the efforts or resources available here on the Xtreamer branch until the brand itself is capable of adding some weight in value next to the weight of "crap" they launch and is able to handling other aspects besides "making sales".
While this might be conflicting with some people believing this reaction is out of line with pro news sites... I remind you, we are not "pros" but regular users, reporting and handling a selection of brands and products we believe deliver most fun at home... This explanation is only a small part of our findings on xtreamer and Unicorn. We welcome anyone to discuss the Xtreamer products in the general forums but expect no major input from MPC officials.

a meno che non si tratti di nomi blasonati funziona un po' così per tutti: si crea una grande aspettativa millantando funzionalità iperboliche raccogliendo ordini a più non posso (e si va sempre in ritardo per le consegne). le prime vendite servono a rifinanziare lo sviluppo successivo del SW che forzatamente è acerbo e poco stabile. ad ogni release incompleta si tira un respiro di sollievo e si spera nella successiva.
nel caso di Xtreamer possiamo dire che per il suo costo è una macchinetta onesta. quando implementeranno il Movei Jukebox e lo streaming dell'audio HD sarà definitiva

Problemi con HaneWin NFS Server
Ho scaricato HaneWin NFS Server e come letto sui vari post e sul forum di Xtreamer.net l'ho installato sul portatile con Windows 7 X64 tutto perfetto, ho provato a vedere dei mkv che avevo sul portatile senza problemi.
Poi ho provato a fare la stessa cosa sul dektop con windows XP Professional ma quando vado dal broswer sul setup/nsf client e metto i dati per montare le cartelle che ho sul desktop comincia a lavorare ma dopo un bel po mi dice non che trova il server eppure l'Xtreamer lo vedo benissimo sia dal browser sia in risorse di rete e riesco a leggere i files che ci sono su un HD usb collegato all'Xtreamer, non capisco dove sbaglio.
Altro problema, dopo aver fatto tutto quello che è spiegato nei vari post per condividere in rete le cartelle tra Pc e Xtreamer con Windows 7 riesco a vedere e riprodurre i vari files mentre con Xp come cerco di accedere alla cartella mi chiede la id utente e la password.

Ho scaricato HaneWin NFS Server e come letto sui vari post e sul forum di Xtreamer.net l'ho installato sul portatile con Windows 7 X64 tutto perfetto, ho provato a vedere dei mkv che avevo sul portatile senza problemi.

Ci sono problemi a visuallizzare rip di BD?
Ragazzi, scusate, perdono, ma non fatemi leggere tutte le 70 pagine del topic.
Ho un dubbio sull'Xtreamer.
Purtroppo non ho ancora potuto provarlo bene (sigh) nonostante ce l'abbia da circa 2 mesi.
La domanda in oggetto (Ci sono problemi a visuallizzare rip di BD?) deriva dal fatto che mi è sorto un dubbio.
Sono sufficienti i 480 Mbps di transfer rate collegando un HD esterno via usb oppure ci sono problemi di scattosità?
Attenti però. Non parlo di Mkv (ovvero formati compressi). Parlo di Rip di Blu Ray originali (25-50 GB per capirci)
