http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAAX6.PDF

Video Highlights
Component Video Out
Behold Component Video Out: a picture-enhancing advancement in DVD Home Player technology. Output terminals on the DVD-A360 allow for the transmission of digital video to compatible video equipment with component video inputs. The DVD player transmits each of the three parts of the video signal along independent signal paths. Theluminance, or brightness (black and white), the blue chrominance (color) and the red chrominance (color) signals are transmitted separately to ensure the highest possible picture quality. Component Video Out technology allows the DVD-A360 and select other Panasonic Home DVD Players to provide higher resolution, more accurate colors, and a more film-like image.
Discrete component video output terminals on the Panasonic DVD-A360 allow the player to send these higher-quality signals to more than one monitor at a time.
Digital Picture Mode
Image quality varies from disc to disc because movies are recorded onto discs in different formats. Digital Picture Mode lets you select 1 of 4 preset viewing modes -- Normal, Fine, Soft, or Cinema -- to make sure you get the best image quality possible in any format.
Normal Mode is the default setting, and is most appropriate for viewing ordinary DVD movies and software. Animated material benefits the most from setting the Digital Picture Mode to Fine. The Soft Mode reduces video noise, and is suitable for viewing video CDs. Lastly, the Cinema Mode provides a non-tiring picture, best for extended viewing of DVD movies.
Digital Picture Mode also enables you to customize the picture setting to your liking. You can manually adjust Color (15-step), Brightness (15-step), Contrast (15-step), and Equalizer (3-step). All of these calibration options ensure that the picture you see is of the finest image quality.
Monitor Select
In addition to Component Video Out and Digital Picture Mode, Panasonic DVD Home Players are equipped with a third advanced feature that enhances picture quality. Monitor Select allows you to "tell" your DVD player what type of monitor it's connected to, in order to make sure that the picture it generates is the most appropriate one for your viewing needs.
You can select from four different monitor types: Standard, CRT projector, LCD projector, and Projection TV. The Standard Mode is effective for all direct-view sets: wide-screen TVs, Digital TVs, and NTSC standard 4:3 aspect ratio televisions. The CRT Projector Mode is for a front-projector using cathode ray tubes and the LCD Projector Mode is for a front-projector using Liquid-Crystal-Display technology. The Projection Mode is for the more-common self-contained rear-projection televisions. When you use the Monitor Select feature to designate your type of monitor, the DVD player will automatically adjust the picture it generates for optimum video display.
Audio Features
Built-in Dolby Digital® and DTS® Decoder
The Built-in decoder for both Dolby Digital® and DTS® sound systems eliminates the need for an external decoder. To enjoy the thrilling sound of the theater in your own home, all you have to do is hook up the player directly to an AV receiver with 5 (or 6) discrete inputs. Now it's easier than ever to experience the energy of 5.1 channel digital surround sound on both Dolby Digital® and DTS® encoded discs.
Dolby Digital® uses six discrete channels of audio to deliver crisp, cinema-quality sound. Individual channels are provided for your Left Front, Center, Right Front, Left Surround, Right Surround speakers and your Subwoofer. The built-in decoder also lets you arrange speaker configuration, speaker level, delay time, and offers master volume control.
DTS®, or, Digital Theater Systems®, is the sound system of choice in many movie theaters. It also offers 6 discrete channels of audio, but uses a different process than the Dolby Digital® technology to encode the movie soundtrack onto the disc. DTS® technology lets movie watchers enjoy the same dynamic and crystal-clear sound that they experience in the theater.
Advanced Virtual Surround Sound
Thanks to Panasonic's Advanced Virtual Surround Sound technology, you can appreciate the thrilling sounds of the cinema without an elaborate home theater system. This technology simulates surround-channel sound using only the two speakers of your stereo system or stereo television. An improved version of Virtual Surround Sound is available on this year's DVD Home Players. The technology has been refined to give your front speakers a wider range from right to left in order to enhance the surround sound effect and it works with any Dolby 2.0, 5.0 or 5.1 encoded disc.
Dialogue Enhancer
When watching movies recorded in surround sound formats (either Dolby Digital®, DTS®, or Dolby Pro-Logic®) most of the movie dialogue is heard through the center channel speaker. At times, the dialogue can be overwhelmed by particularly loud sounds emanating from the other speakers in your surround-sound system, making it harder to hear what is being said. The Dialogue Enhancer increases the center channel volume (relative to other channels), making the dialogue much more intelligible.
Easy operation
Universal Joystick Remote
The Universal Joystick Remote, included with the DVD-A360, is compatible with most TV sets. Its sophisticated new design features a front panel which slides down to reveal more controls. And you can use the special joystick feature to easily scan and navigate through movie menus and on-screen displays.
Quick Start
Many Panasonic DVD Home Players like the DVD-A360, have been re-engineered to start up even faster than last year's models. Now, once a disc is inserted and you press 'PLAY' a picture will appear on screen within seconds.
Chapter Preview
This Panasonic DVD Home Player is equipped with Chapter Preview, which serves as a tool to refresh your memory about a movie you haven't seen all the way through. When you press Play again while the disc is still in the player, Chapter Preview automatically shows you the first three seconds of each previously viewed chapter, and will resume normal play once it reaches the position where you left off.
