Ma se colleghi con un cavo usb il Med e il Tv Sony ? Magari la tv lo vede come una chiavetta usb .... ma poi il Sony li legge i file mkv ?
E poi forse diventa scomodo cablare da una stanza all' altra

Cmq sarebbe interessante sviluppare il discorso 1 Mede8er e più tv !!
Strano che non ci sia la possibilità di farlo.
Forse se la tv supportasse il protocollo UPnP ...

Una soluzione simpatica potrebbe essere questa:

Se hai un router serio dovrebbe avere la possibilità di mettere in share un dispositivo USB.
A questo punto togli l'HD del mede8er e lo metti in un box esterno e lo colleghi con l usb al router .... cosi poi via rete l'HD diventa raggiungibile sia dalla rete dnla del sony che dal mede8er.
sempre che il sony riesca a leggere i file mkv ... senno cmq stiam parlando di niente

Soluzione numero 2:

Tieni i film nell HD del PC !! poi vai in streaming sia dal mede8er via ethernet, che dal tv sony ..... in questo caso hai diversi vantaggi:
- sul pc puoi installare tutti i server che ti pare (dnla, upnp, nas, ecc.)
- sempre sul pc puoi installare protocolli che leggano e interpretino e randano visibili i file mkv al sony se non li leggesse di default
- non devi trasferire i file video nuovi dal pc al med (questo già secondo me vale la candela)

Contro di questo metodo è che devi avere sempre il pc acceso per vedere i film

Io ne aggiungerei una terza, forse un po piu costosa delle altre due...ma sicuramente piu funzionale.

si,il Sony ovviamente legge i file Mkv, in effetti sarebbe parecchio scomodo cablare tutta la casa.

Io ho Fastweb, quindi ho l'Hag che danno in comodato, ho visto dietro e effettivamente c'è una porta Usb, ora provo ad attaccare il Med via usb e vediamo che succede.

La soluzione numero 2 è quella che attualmente uso, purtroppo ho un Pc un po’ vecchiotto con poca memoria e parecchio rumoroso.

Finally The all new V2 Firmware that has been many many months in the making

The New V2 has lots of new functionality so its VERY IMPORTANT that you download and read the user manuals . This release does not have a working Transmission BT downloader so dont update if you have pending downloads that need completion. See note at the bottom for more info

IMPORTANT: ONLY INSTALL VIA EMERGENCY METHOD AND DO NOT USE CONFIG RESTORE
AFTER THE UPDATE WE SUGGEST YOU REBOOT THE X2 AND THEN CONTINUE

Emergency Method (Resets Configuration to Default)
Format USB stick to FAT32. Unzip the firmware and copy the Install.img to the root of the USB stick. Disconnect the power jack at the rear of the Mede8er then plug it back in - Now press the on/off button and hold it pressed for 20 seconds and then release. After approximately 15 seconds the LED on the Mede8er with flash blue and you will get a progress bar on your TV display (some TV's will not display this) wait until the Mede8er re boots itself +- 60 sec. Your Mede8er is now updated.

Per i possessori del 500x2, ho installato oggi il firmware 2.0, seguendo l'aggiornamento diretto da usb dal menu impostazioni (nonostante sia consigliato l'emergency backup). TUTTO PERFETTO, meno di 5 minuti. Hanno pure migliorato l'estetica modificando alcune brutte icone e lo sfondo (ricordiamo, ora pure intercambiabile) e il passaggio tra le voci col telecomando è ancora più fluido di quanto non fosse già prima .

Ovviamente nessun problema riscontrato con i bluray.... Ho sempre il problema che non riesco a riconoscere il med EDIT IMMEDIATO, MENTRE SCRIVEVO HO APERTO RISORSE DEL COMPUTER E MI SN TROVATO IL COLLEGAMENTO AHAHAH

Youtube carica i video più velocemente, il browser ancora non l'ho provato. hanno aggiunto IMDb che non mi sembrava prima ci fosse, per un cinefilo come me è un'ottima cosa .

Consiglio aggiornamento :O

ahahah mi tocco anche io, comunque l'ho usato tutta la mattina senza alcun problema,spegnendolo e riaccendendolo spesso. Ha anche guadagnato qualche secondo in fase di accensione.

3- L'acquisto di un buon NAS.

Ciao a tutti
ho visto dei "server di rete" che costano poche decine di euro e permettono di collegare un hd usb alla rete.
Qualcuno ha già provato questa configurazione "pseudoNAS" con il med?

eh..anch'io ho visto della synology qualcosa del genere...ma non credo che a livello di prestazioni sia la stessa cosa...anche se vorrei sbagliarmi visto che a me farebbe molto comodo, ho un paio di docking station e molti hd "volanti"

Da quello che ho visto leggendo le caratteristiche è che manca il supporto al protocollo NFS e quindi è possibile usare solo il Samba.
Invece ci sono dei server dove è possibile installarci delle distro Linux e che permetterebbero di avere un prodotto piu completo...ma piu difficile da gestire a tutti quelli che non masticano la programmazione.

ho seguito tutta la discussione e mi sono convinto di acquistare il MED500x2.
Mi mancano solo due dettagli:
- la tastiera wi: qualcuno l'ha provata? sono possibili tastiere alternative all'originale?
- la navigazione web con collegamento via lan è fluida?
