[Pioneer] 427 e 507

Un interessante recensione di un forumer inglese con test completi per chi ancora non ha provato film hd dvd:

"Hi got my Pioneer 427xd yesterday , I would like to offer a few observations.

HD-DVD - Batman Begins
D-Theatre - Alien
SKYHD - Football HD fulham match
Madagascar HD
Strictly Come Dancing BBC HD
DVD upscaled - CSI New York NTSC region1
Sky - Final Score BBC1


The picture = very good of course , black levels are still a disappointment. Compared to a friends Panasonic PX60 , or my old 36" crt , they don't appear to be as black, rather a dark grey-unless anyone has a setting to help this? I will stick to my projector for 2:35:1 movies I think
Looking close up, there is a fair amount of noise present ,although from the right viewing distance, this isn't an issue. HD obviously looks great ,still running it with carefull settings for the run in period ,which is a challenge with children and cbbc and the sky pause logo. The standard def picture is good too, and is in a different league to LCD ,such as the Sony W. There is no lag that I have noticed on football with left to right pans looking nice and smooth. Sky hd is set to automatic and Hd-dvd to 720p at the moment.
Couldn't see much difference between component and HDMI ,but I will report back on this. Although not my normal viewing taste "Simply Come Dancing" HD looked very impressive tonight.
Remote = shame it isn't backlit, still finding my way around it, I would rather have a button on the remote ,rather than having to go into the menu to change picture presets. It's also easy in the dark to switch the source select button by mistake. Having said that,the button's are well spaced out and is preferable to the cluttered Panasonic design. I can't find a way to re label each input , such as input 4 hdmi = sky ,input 3 hdmi HD-DVD etc.
The sound = nothing outstanding from the inbuilt speaker,they should have enabled it to be used as a centre speaker.Noise = there is no buzzing at all.
The Design = This is by far the top of the tree in the looks department ,a very simple piano black finish which is slightly better than the 427 0XD. It looks good switched off, with no plastic looking grill like I have seen on other TV'S. Keeping childrens sticky finger prints away from this I think.
I went for the silver table top stand which contrast's nicely with the black screen.
Inputs = Good to have 2 x HDMI , but could have done with another component.Tried the PC input with VGA to HDMI Cablebox converter from the Hd-dvd player with upscaled 720p of CSI New York NTSC which looked superb.
Retention = none so far,although it's early days!
Conclusion = I have done a lot of research into a new screen , looked at the Sony SXRD 55 , which looked good on HD ,but was way to big for my front room and didn't look anything special on the design front. Sony 40X and W ,simply not good enough on standard def plus the usual LCD issue's.
Although the above mentioned are full res HD, this wasn't an issue with the size of the Pioneer. It was down to either the Panasonic px600 or the Pioneer 427xd. I can fully recommend the Pioneer and I hopes this helps."

Mi è parso oltretutto molto interessante lo spunto dedicato al confronto con gli lcd full hd, e il ragionamento fatto sui filmati sportivi, secondo cui questi Pioneer sono davvero spettacolari...

non metterli su dvd .non te li legge.devi collegare il pc alla tv x vederli.
il lettore non essendo hd non supporta quel materiale purtroppo.vedi attendere i lettori hd.
io ho scaricato giga e giga di filmati inutilmente!!

Questa è una osservazione abbastanza preoccupante...
Il livello del nero è un parametro importantissimo per la valutazione di un plasma e quello sul quale Pioneer doveva lavorare un po' di più per raggiungere la Panasonic...
Mi vanno a cadere proprio su quello?

Effettivamente è l'unico punto non propriamente convincente della bella recensione, confermata peraltro da molti utenti sparsi un pò ovunque....
I neri di Panasonic sono formidabili: però leggendo complessivamente la recensione alla fine il risultato sia comunque straordinario per un hd ready(ripeto nota il fatto dei film hd dvd e delle immagini sportive....)

Scusate, ma la soluzione migliore per materiale anamorfico nativo in 16:9 é utilizzare la modalità full, la wide é indicata per visualizzare materiale 4:3 e taglia un pochino l'immagine in alto ed in basso e deforma, così da riempire lo schermo.

io pensavo di dovermi "accontentare" (in alcuni frangenti) del plasma, tipo sui neri o sulla televisione analogica...invece niente, x ora sono soddisfattissimo.
certo non sarà perfetto, ma non rimpiango il mio crt...
sopratutto su dvd e film trasmessi da sky, questi Pioneer mi sembra siano fantastici.
un pò meno sulle partite, anche se dipende dai canali di sky...
il 201-206(quello degli anticipi/posticipi, regolare e 16:9) sono di buon livello, gli altri(quelli dal 250 in poi) meno...

se vuoi qualche degli esempi posso provare a fare delle foto, magari suggerisci tu in che condizioni(sky, dvd, tv normale, etc etc) o addirittura proprio qualche film o immagine di prova...non ho skyHD.

cmq ancora ieri in un centro commerciale ho visto in azione i nuovi Pioneer e Panasonic(PV600), e rispetto ad altri c'è un abisso.
io stesso ero indeciso tra questi modelli, poi ho scelto Pioneer anche x un fatto estetico, non lo nascondo...
e vabbè, alla fine ci ho guadagnato anche un lettore dvd nuovo

cmq tornando ai formati, io di solito uso ZOOM x la visione normale(taglia sopra e sotto ma deforma meno del WIDE), FULL x i canali 16:9 e dvd...

...controllando a computer mi ha risposto che il prodotto è stato bloccato e cioè che la Pioneer ha interrotto la distribuzione. Ho chiesto chiarimenti ma non mi ha saputo rispondere. Cosa devo pensare?????????????????????????

Secondo me Myfriend, dipende anche molto dalla taratura che ognuno fà sul proprio TV...è ovvio che lavorando con settaggi "bassi" all'inizio bisogna trovare dei compromessi....

ma il livello del nero....su questo plasma non è affatto deludente....anzi...è il secondo miglior nero attualmente disponbile su un flat TV...

Questo TV ha delle potenzialità enormi...non capisco effettivamente cosa vai in cerca?

Io acquistando questi Pio mi preoccuperei più x l'IR, il BURN-IN i CONSUMI.... rispetto alla qualità dell'immagini che restituiscono! (vedi quelli francesi)
