At a sneak preview in New York last week, Philips showed its Perfect Pixel HD engine that’s designed to match incoming pixels of the signal to those of the 1080p display for optimum sharpness, color and overall accuracy. The new 42-, 47- and 52-inch Ambilight sets have gotten a bump in refresh rate to 120 Hz for better motion reproduction.
New products due out this summer include the Ambilight Full Surround 42-inch 42PFL9832D LCD TV ($2,999), the 47-inch Ambilight 2-Channel 47PFL9732D ($2,799) and the 52-inch 2-Channel 52PFL7432D ($3,599).
