Si tratta di un drive per PC capace di leggere e masterizzare i BR e leggere soltanto gli HD-DVD, il lancio dovrebbe essere imminente, sul prezzo e disponibilita' in Italia non si sa ancora nulla.

- HP to Offer Blu-ray, HD DVD Combo Drive
HP, a supporter of both high-definition formats, will release two PCs with combo drives capable of playing both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs, the company announced today.
The HP Pavilion Media Center m8010y series and HP Pavilion d4890y series will be available for configuration with a Blu-ray disc writer/HD DVD optical drive beginning on May 9. The drive will allow reading and writing of Blu-ray discs and reading of HD DVD media.
HP originally championed Blu-ray as the next-gen format of choice, in a 2005 press release. "From a PC end-user perspective, Blu-ray is a superior format. It offers 67-150 percent more storage capacity, higher transfer rates, slim-line notebook compatibility, broadband connectivity and a proven interactive layer with BD-Java," said Maureen Weber, General Manager of Hewlett Packard's Personal Storage Business. "The technical merits and consumer benefits of Blu-ray Disc make it the ideal solution for HP's customers."
HP soon joined the HD DVD camp and showed an HD DVD player at 2006's CES. Fast forward one year later to CES 2007, when HP showed their first Blu-ray writer and claimed that they wanted both formats to be available.
Less than a month ago, Samsung announced their Duo HD dual-format player, set to be released "in time for the holidays." With LG's BH100 Super Multi Blue player currently available, the HP drive will become the third announced -- but second to be released -- dual-format drive.
Will this end the format war? Probably not, but it wouldn't be surprising to see more dual-format drives become available soon.
HP also announced a number of other configurable features for the PCs, including an ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner with CableCard interface, allowing for the recording of premium high-definition content.
