Things have been going slowly I'm afraid (my second baby arrived a few weeks ago and my free time is somewhat limited...) however I've found a couple of issues and this is roughly what I plan to do.
0.0.6 A few days
- A couple of minor fixes, which seem to improve smoothness for me
0.0.7 A few weeks
- postprocessing built into decoder and seperate postprocessing filter for TV this will just do flag based deinterlacing
0.0.8 A month or so
- film detection

About the initial postprocessing, even just for flag based deinterlace, will it use MoComp2 for video deinterlace or still just simple bob?
*****************
It will use a new improved version of MoComp2 called Diag. This has two main improvements: It will act on 4:2:0 and will deinterlace chroma sensibly as well as now doing much better motion detection.

DROOL!!!!!!!
The good old MoComp2 has artifact in high contrast fast motion area. If the new Diag (great name!) will fix that with a even less jaggies edge then it will beat DCDi hand down IMO.
