Perfect scaling, real HDTV 1080p and much more...

The new cinemateq picture optimizer

The entry level solution for the perfect home cinema

Munich, July 13th 2004: Based on the new cinemateq technology compared to its predecessor version the second generation of the picture optimizer offers several new functions and a modified scaling- & optimizing technology for effectively improving pictures of projectors and plasma screens.

The device conceived as entry level solution and sized to compact home cinema systems in its function spectrum offers excellent picture optimization in regards to resolution, sharpness, calm picture, brightness, contrast and colour rendition in conjunction with a outstanding price-performance-ratio. Due to the new scaling technology the picture optimizer now provides a pixel exact and maximally fine output picture for each and every output resolution and guarantees mathematically 100% perfect scaling.

Next to the standard ?linedoubling? the picture optimizer can distribute all common output resolutions up to wide XGA (1356 x 769p) including the HDTV standard 720p (1280x 720p). In total there are seven predefined resolutions for each PAL and NTSC directly selectable using the remote control. Via a freely adjustable ?custom resolution? nearly every projector and/or plasma screen can be addressed with its pixel exact (native) resolution up to a maximum value of wide XGA.

With the new function ?overscan? there is now the possibility to slightly zoom into the picture in order to ?cut off? 3 % on the picture edge. Especially when watching TV and ?older? video material this function ensures a optimum rendition of picture contents whilst simply ?fading out? signal disturbances on the edge (e.g. so called flickering lines).

Besides a special filmmode detection for PAL and NTSC the picture optimizer integrates a flexibe frame rate conversion enabling pictures to be displayed with 50, 75 and 100 Hertz for real cinema feeling. In order to ensure a constantly optimal picture- and colour rendition different picture parameters such as brightness, colour graduation etc. as well as sharpness, picture position and size can be individually modified.

Alike its predecessor model the new picture optimizer integrates three analog video inputs (FBAS, YUV, RGB) and one analog output (RGB, YUV) in all common format and interface variants. In order to comply to European standards a SCART input has been integrated also. The device can process all analog signal formats and distribute them as RGB or YUV signal. Besides there is the possibility for format conversion such as RGB input to YUV-output or vice versa.

The recommended street price for the new picture optimizer in Germany is at 895,-? (incl. 16% VAT).
