How to convert this player for multi-region playback:
This hack works for all Philips DVD players, with any firmware version. You should, however, check that you are using the lastest version of the firmware available for your player. You can downloaded the required files from here and then burn them to CD-R to flash the player. You will be able to play RCE (Region Coding Enhancement) encoded discs from any region with this hack.
Send the infra-red code RC6 (Codeset 4, Key 235) to your player. You can do this with a OneForAll remote such as the OneForAll 6 (URC7560) by following these instructions:
Configure your remote using the setup code 0539
Press the Magic button
Enter the code 085
If you have a Palm Pilot, you can use Pacific Neo-Tek's OmniRemote software to generate the RC6 code using this .pdb file and by following these instructions:
Download the .pdb file into your Palm Pilot
Press the OmniRemote key marked as 955 Multizone
If you have a Philips Pronto, connect it to your PC, and then follow these instructions:
Start the ProntoEdit program (version 1.05. If you don't have version 1.05, you can download it from here).
From the menu, select "Device", followed by "Add Device". A new device will appear in the list on the left.
Go to the "Properties" of the device you just added (left-click on the device followed by "Properties").
A window entitled "Device Properties - device" or similar will appear. Click on the "Action" tab.
Click 'RC5/6' and a window entitled "Define RC5/6 Code" will appear. Select "RC6 mode 0".
In the "System" field, enter the value 4.
In the "Command" field, enter the value 235.
Press "OK" to return to the "Device Properties" window.
To transmit the code, click on "Test IR", do not disconnect the Pronto from your PC.
The onscreen display should look like this: '-----------'
Using the number keys on your DVD player's remote control, enter the code 222 222 005 255
Press the Play button on your DVD player's remote control
The onscreen display should now show the words "No Disc"
..And you're done!

Grazie per i file che mi hai inviato.
Ho inserito il codice per il p-scan e da quel momento ho pero il free area.
Per il fw non sono riuscito ad inserirlo, vorrei mettere quello con il 1080i.
Purtroppo non ho un Pronto ne un Palm non so proprio come risolvere il problema.

Non si capisce un ***** quando parli Kasinsky!!
Intanto invece che riportare tutta quella ***** in lingua originale dire semplicemente in due parole spiccicate in italiano no, troppo difficile vero??
In secondo luogo che ***** vuol dire NON PREMERE PLAY MA CLOSE???
In quale procedura? In quella per abilitare il progressive a 576P o in quella per aggiornare il firmware a 1080i??
E poi non premere PLAY all'inizio o alla fine della procedura?

Mah guarda io non capisco queste polemiche da poco.
Dico solo che ci vuole poco invece che riportare paro paro il tipo che scrive in francese tenendo conto che non tutti parlano francese o hanno voglia di tradursi tutto il brano un breve riassunto del da farsi.
E poi non si capisce quando bisogna premere close.
