onkyo 605 o onkyo 606 ?

Carissimi,forumisti e non, vorrei cambiare il mio amplificatore (onkyo601e) con uno tra questi 2....secondo voi conviene di piu' acquistare il 605 o il 606 ? Le differenze (tra codifiche, connessioni e prezzo) sono cosi' "irrinunciabili" rispetto al 605 ?

sono praticamene identitic tranne per:
- upscaling a 1080i dei segnali digitali, quelli analogici vengono solo upconvertiti come nel 605
- 4 ingressi HDMI (questa è driver che ti deve guidare a scegliere uno o l'altro secondo me), il 605 ne ha solo 2
- algortimi migliorati per la riproduzione di audio da MP3

e forse altre cose minori...spero di essermi ricordato di tutto

In soldoni dice quello che ci si aspettava, ossia che il 606 è "almeno tanto buono quanto il 605 con qualche feature in più"

a quanto pare (letto su forum usa) il chip video del 606 è molto inferiore a quello del 605 ... se interessa l'upscaling consigliano di puntare sul 605.

Forse hai sbagliato a scrivere... ma è solo il 606 che fa upscaling. E poi che io sappia i 2 sinto montano lo stesso chip per il video.

605 (faroudja) e 606 (hudson II) dovrebbero montare un diversi chip video e quello del 606 sembra essere meno evoluto ...
non credo che la cosa interessi se le sorgenti collegate all'ampli sono tutte HD (Sky HD e PS3 per esempio).

The 605 also uses a 2D comb filter (1st generation Hudson). You may have seen many posts on the forum suggesting that the 605 negatively altered their picture when they let it upconvert however some folks are not aware of the design specs of the faroudja chip, which accounted for this.

The 2D comb filter basically processes and transmits luminance and chrominance as split video channels, similar to data sent via S-video where as 3D filters split the chrominance into low and high frequency channels, which accounts for the pre-eminence given to component video cable input. If your cable company doesn't do HD, and your TV accepts S-video at best then you may never see the difference. The 605 faroudja chip may be even superior to the one in your TV however modern LCD's, plasmas accept HDMI and have 3D filtering. While the 605 allowed HDMI pass through (letting 1080p or any HDMI signal go through untouched), if you used HDMI out for video and supplied S-video or composite, then the faroudja card would upconvert the picture. Some folks were not always pleased with the output.

I would have liked to see a cheap 3D faroudja chip implemented in the 606, even if it is just 1080i so that good quality video would not be chocked off by the upconversion."

Useful scaler
The scaler is a worthwhile addition for those without an exclusive diet of Blu-ray discs and Sky HD: it’s not as good as the amazing Reon HQV system in the TX-SR875, which after all costs 150% more, but it is more than adequate when it comes to upscaling standard definition TV broadcasts and DVDs for viewing on a plasma or LCD screen.

We found it works extremely well with standard definition video, such as that from DVD – it won’t fool you you’re watching ‘proper’ HD material, but it does process the signal without any obvious signs of all the adding up, taking away and multiplying by your birthday that'’s going on under the hood.

We really pushed it to the limits by running a Blu-ray player down to 480p and feeding it in through the Onkyo’s component video inputs; while the results would never fool anyone they were watching full 1080p, the picture is pretty respectable, even when run onto our huge main viewing screen via a top-notch projector.

Inoltre ribadisco quanto già detto: il 605 non fa upscaling se non tramite un menu nascosto che oltretutto schiaccia tutto in 4:3 risultando quindi inutilizzabile.

Ragazzi ma senza avere a casa dispositivi HD, nè televisori.....nè console e via discorrendo, secondo voi un Tx-Sr600e vale ancora qualcosa nell'ascolto di un dvd (film o concerto che sia) o è meglio sostituirlo?
Io lo abbino ad un set di casse Wharfedale e non mi ha mai dato problemi.....ma noto che la tecnologia sta evolvendosi rapidamente...........che fare?

Dato che il dubbio è venuto anche a me, vorrei sapere se per quanto riguarda il comparto video convenga ancora prendere il 605 se uno ha una ps3 che l'upscalling lo fà già da se....

Direi che lo scaling è sicuramente meglio lasciarlo fare alla sorgente (in questo caso la PS3, che se la cava piuttosto bene).
