ADVANCED NETWORK SECURITY The Xtreamer supports the latest wireless security features to help prevent unauthorized access, whether from over a wireless network or the Internet. Support for WPA and WPA2 standards ensure that you will be able to use the best possible encryption regardless of your client devices.

Dear freinds and customers

We are keeping a close touch with Media Streamer enthusiastic community members in various countries worldwide and have the intention to retain close relationship with this forum as well as with several magazine editors and bloggers who will soon prepate a very thorough reviews of our product.
we put much emphasis on retaining close relationship with key people in each country, specially those that can be voice to the need of many.
we would be delighted to send a commercial sample to those seeking supporting this community with their professional opinion and insight.
You are expected to get your hand on your devices once we will start shipping our first batch in 4 weeks time (1.7.2009) .
Our european HQ is located in NL so goods will be shipped from there to all parts of the world.
Our devices are aimed at online-only market so as to retain competitive price that will be attractive to the end-user. you will not find them in retail stores anywhere as this will mean you will pay more.
For the pre-order time period (until 1.7.2009) we offer all our clients a free USB antenna gift worth 20 euro and practically we ship worldwide .
please take the time to study a little more about the xtreamer until your units will arrive and reviews will be published.
I will take the opportunnity to share with you few key points for your reference, some may serve you later as background for your active response here and elswhere.
The Xtreamer was designed and manufactured by the joint effort of Unicorn-Mvix, Zyxel and Realtek and other vendors. each contributed its knowledge in a joint Korean-China-Taiwanese effort to come up with a device that will be both attractive in terms of price and specs.
The Xtreamer is driven by people who love their media and enjoy it to the maximum extent possible. We all are very much the same geeks as most readers of forum like the well respected MPC Club and AVS Forum. We simply got to the conclusion that media streamer should not be too expensive and beyond reach of the mass who simply cant afford one at recession time.
in our eyes, it is simply makes no sense why a DVD is sold in your local supermarket for less than 50$ and a descent media player with basic functionalities cost sometime 4 times more.
As much effort was done in order to ensure a very capable unit at a competitive price - we came to the point we can assure all our clients "money back guarantee" so each can try the unit himself and if not convinced so as to its capabilities, he is more than welcome to return the product for a full unquestionable refund.
The RD team and the designers took the best of all what you may already heard or seen in media players market and incorporated it into a very small-ultra portable - yet very simple device that can play your entire media files in a stable environment without too complicated (many times much unnecessary) feature list that no one really use.
The main goal was creating a device that can play your media files in full HD at 1080P resolution (h,264, and MKV) over wireless network featuring the most latest codecs and formats such as FLAC DTS HD, HD JEPG, AVCHD FLV & MKV.
Therefore much effort was done in several directions
(1) design sleek GUI that is simple and yet powerful navigation and user exprience.
(2) Design a special USB Antenna at 802.11n that will allow in most cases users to stream HD files - we got good results for 720P and improving. (this issue will be updated and gradually be enhanced) . we did not want to rely on old USB dongle due to this fact (even so called 802.11n)
please note : if a user dont have a 802.11n router as yet - he can use 2 of our antennas and create himself a "dedicated wireless network" for streaming his media in the premises. one in his PC and one in his Xtreamer.
(3) emphasis on MKV and H.264 capability and competability to as many embedded codecs as possible.
The Xtreamer therefore performs several unique advantages over competing media streamers :
(1) unlike the WDTV - the Xtreamer has both wired/wireless lan connectivity at 802.11n standard.
(2) unlike NMT - the wireless USB Antenna is to be at 802.11n - much stronger and stable signal than any USB dongle in the market. (patent pending) .
(3) Unlike the WDTV - it can work as an external HDD 2.5" enclosure. (not a must have but nice to have)
(4) Unlike the Asus O|Play the xtreamer use more advanced chipset. the Asus use Realtek 1073 and Xtreamer is based on the more advanced 128X ( the X stands for specially designed chipset made for this project only - from the 1283 series) .
please note an important enhancment to our realtek based unit : its supports NTFS read\write as well as SMB. your unit will be able to be accessible from your PC and files would be able to be copied\downloaded\streamed with no problem via your wire\wireless USB and your USB
the device supports 2 USB extentions that alows it to connect to 2 extrenal USB HDD + the additional one inside (as an option).
(5) Unlike the WDTV or Asus the xtreamer supports 23 languages including full 100% OSD, GUI and Subtitles for each.
(6) The Xtreamer has an incorporated full NAS capability based on its UPnP abiity. a user can access and stream all his media library even from the internet by simply designating his unit a friendly name ( Yourname.xtreamer.net) . the integrated DDNS and NAS are both free and installed from factor .
(7) the Xtreamer comes with full NTFS SMB and FTP full read/write capability
(8) special effort was done in utilizing the xtreamer to support 1080p and MKV. Thus our labs tests shows more than 95% competability to MKV files
(9) our staff was collecting data for month in various warez blogs and platforms so as to enable greater competability to as many file formats and codecs as possible (mininova, warez-bb.org. katz.cd etc) we dont recomend nor we will support by anyway downloading illegal media or protected intelectual property content of any kind.
(10) the Xtreamer is bundled with YAMJ like software that was designed to be easier for "regular" user while retain support for both media search and an automatic movie info file generation from various platforms
(11) the Xtreamer is supporting DTS audio and has acquired all licenses from Sisvel , DTS, Dolby labs and Divx)
(12) the Xtreamer supports an Auto WIFI Scan and an Auto UPnP detection from factor.
(13) The xtreamer is designed mainly for Windows PC vista and XP users and linux users (mac support is scheduled for Q3 2009)
please take the time to visit our platforms and support systems - lurk the screenshots of the various parts of the Xtreamer GUI and learn more about our products. the platforms will be updated in the next few weeks with more articles and valuable info.
we are looking foreword to please your community with a device and service that will allow you all to enjoy your spare time easier and without spending too much.
