Tecnologia Philips Clear LCD: funziona???
"Philips ‘Clear LCD’
Consumers are growing to love the slim profile and crisp pictures of the latest LCD TVs, even though LCD panels have traditionallly suffered motion artefacts and a ‘lack of black’. Now Philips has tackled both issues head-on with its new ‘Clear LCD’ technology. Step one is to stimulate the lazy LCD crystals with ‘Overdrive Control, which decreases their response-time to six milliseconds. Next, a ‘Scanning Backlight’ algorithm limits the effect of motion blurring by only illuminating pixels when they have reached their desired transmission level. Then, by actively allocating dark scenes less light than bright ones, ‘Clear LCD’ generates deeper blacks. These in turn yield increased detail and much greater perceived contrast, all without any loss to brightness thanks to the use of HCFL (hot cathode fluorescent) illumination. "
