Gli appassionati italiani della saga di "Alien" oltre al danno legato all'assurda decisione di posticipare l'uscita cinematografica di "Prometheus" fino al prossimo 19 ottobre, ora dovranno anche digerire la beffa di un'edizione Blu-ray 3D del film già prevista in uscita in alcuni mercati qualche giorno prima dell'italica distribuzione cinematografica! Le edizioni Blu-ray 3D del film di Ridley Scott sono, infatti, previste nei negozi USA per il 9 ottobre e in Francia addirittura qualche giorno prima: 3 ottobre. 

Sono stati svelati anche i dettagli sui contenuti dell'edizione: niente Director's Cut, ma 15 minuti di scene eliminate, commento del regista, lungo making-of (suddiviso in vari capitoli), diversi corto-metraggi, materiale di produzione, applicazione "Second Screen" per iPad, il tutto in edizione triplo disco con Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray 2D, DVD e Digital Copy.
