Gefen è un'azienda statunitense che produce da 15 anni accessori per collegamenti audio e video di altissima qualità.

Da questo mese sono disponibili molte delle soluzioni presentate all'ultimo CES che si è tenuto a Las Vegas lo scorso gennaio.

Tra i prodotti più interessanti ricordiamo gli ottimi switchers HDMI 6x2 (6 ingressi e 2 uscite) e 2x2 (2 ingressi e 2 uscite),  che saranno l'oggetto del desiderio di molti appassionati, considerando il notevole aumento della disponibilità di sorgenti video e display dotati di questo tipo di connessione.

A questi si aggiungeranno:

- switcher DVI 2x1 per connettere due sorgenti DVI/HDMI ad un solo display;

- splitter HDMI 1:2 per avere due uscite da una sola sorgente;

- extender HDTV in fibra ottica, CAT5 e wireless (laser), quest'ultimo ancora in fase prototipale;

Gefen sarà presente anche all'interno dell'ISE, manifestazione dedicata all'integrazione dei sistemi che si terrà ad Amsterdam dal prossimo 26 gennaio e che seguiremo in tempo reale.

New 2x2 and 6x2 HDMI Switchers allow one HDTV to access multiple sources.

A DVI-2000 HD extender uses fiber optic cables to send video up to 330 feet from the source.

A HDTV CAT5 Extender uses CAT-5 cables to extend video up to 150 feet in length.

A Wireless HD Extender prototype requires no cabling to extend video up to 40 feet from the source using a cable-free laser technology that tracks the beam.

A 2x1 DVI-DL Switcher connects two high resolution computers (like Apple's new Power Mac G5s) to one dual link DVI display (like Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD Display) and switches access to each with remote control. Keyboard/mouse and audio signals are also routed for each source.

A CAT5-5000 HD extends two high definition displays plus keyboard and mouse up to 150 feet for remote operation.

Computer Peripheral Extension:

The USB 2.0 Extender works with hi-speed USB peripherals to enable remote performance when connected up to 150 feet from the computer.

A new Firewire 800 Repeater sends data at 800 Mbsp up to 150 feet from the computer.
