Quad-core Android box with the unique ability to bitstream 7.1 channel HD-audio (including from XBMC). Also supports 3D, BD-ISO and H.265 4K video. Gigabit LAN.
HiMedia are unique in using HiSilicon chipsets for their Android boxes. These have been developed specifically for Android boxes and offer superior video image quality and format support.
Full 7.1 Channel HD-audio 7.1 and 5.1 channel HD-audio can be both downmixed and bitstreamed using either the built in HiMedia video player app or pre-installed XBMC. This is a feature unique to HiMedia Android boxes.
3D BD-ISO and BD-ISO The pre-installed HiMedia video player app will play 1:1 BD-ISO and 3D BD-ISO rips (with BD-lite menus giving chapter and subtitle selection). This is a feature unique to HiMedia Android boxes.
XBMC, Kodi and SPMC Compatibility All versions of XBMC/Kodi can be installed on the Q5 3D 4K and run well with hardware video acceleration. The only thing you lose compared to the pre-installed XBMC is support for 7.1 audio passthrough. The latest Kodi betas are stable and smooth.
Superior Video Image Quality HiSilicon have worked for the past two years on chipsets specifically for media playback on Android boxes. The Q5 3D 4K offers the best image quality of any Android box with comprehensive options to control video output. 24p and 23.976p auto switching works.
Gigabit LAN + Wi-Fi(n) with Antenna Wi-fi(n) with large antenna for great wifi reception and speeds. Gigabit LAN delivers ultra fast networking, measured transfer rates are ~18MB/s file copy to the Q5. This is faster than any other Android box.
Quad-core HiSilicon Hi3798C CPU Quad-core Cortex A9 CPU running at 2.0 Ghz. This CPU scores well on benchmarks and is roughly equivilant to the Amlogic S802. It is a powerful chipset suitable for all Android tasks including 3D gaming.
Octa-core Mali-450 GPU Twice the performance for the same number of cores as the Mali400 found in previous generation products. Enough performance for all 3D gaming. Because the Mali-450 is common to several chipsets it has good gaming support and hardware decoding built into Kodi.
Quality Hardware from a Quality Manufacturer We have sold many HiMedia media players going back 4 years and appreciate their robust build quality. The Q5 3D 4K looks and feels like a quality product.
2GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB DDR3 eMMC Storage More than enough for any task in Android now and in the future.
Full Sized Ergonomic Learning Remote The remote is full sized and fully functioned with an IR learning facility so it can replicate your existing TV remote.

Slick Firmware and Interface The firmware has been developed intelligently to meet the needs of an Android box. It is not the standard Android interface of many products. The HiMedia launcher is navigable by remote and customisable.
