“An Update is good” We hear you asking and We are moving along smoothly
Posted by Cloud Media
It's been just a month since we last wrote. This week, we've gotten a few gentle, friendly reminders to post an update. We hope you understand that we have always wanted to get you a more informative update, not a sloppy one.
Just to keep everyone posted on progress:
There are challenges but we are making great progress and we see improvements every day. After working diligently with the ESS Team, the PCB layout relayout has been done.
And now, the PCB has been sent for fabrication. We will keep you posted once we have received the PCB back after fabrication to perform its quality testing.
Besides, we would love to let you to have a sneak peek on the packaging box of the Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO. A sleek and contemporary design specifically dedicated by our designer to you. We hope you like it :)
And below are some snapshots on the aluminum brushed Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO casing:
On the other notes, we appreciate your kind understanding that the China factory will be shut down from 26 January 2016 to 18 February 2016 for Chinese New Year celebration and holiday. However, our team will be working until 6 February before going off for Chinese New Year celebration in which we will still be performing the quality testing right after we got back the fabricated PCB.
We are continuing make good progress here. Thank you very much again for your amazing support. Thank you very much again and again for your extraordinary patience.
Thank you.

Hi backers,
Good news! We have received the PCB and everything is moving along smoothly. Here are some images on the final PCB:

After the return of the China ESS Team from their Chinese New Year celebration and holiday on 15 Feb 2016, the analog audio performance testing will be carried out to ensure that it conforms to the requirement.
On the other notes, it's our great pleasure to inform you that what we have fixed previously in the Popcorn Hour VTEN will be incorporated in Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO such as 3D subtitles, DSD512, ATMOS Passthrough and many more.
We know pictures worth a thousand words so we are going to show you the Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO Music Home UI demo through video. Here you can see how the audio content can be controlled through the mobile app:

You may also switch your home page back to the Media Home if you'd like the Media Home as your home page over the Music Home.
Lastly, we hope that you can bear with us so that we can deliver you the best unit possible. It is coming soon. REAL SOON. We are hugely grateful for all the support you have shown to us. And of course, your extraordinary patience and faith in us. Thank you for bearing with us during this time. We're truly blessed by your grace and for that, we have tremendous gratitude.
Thank you.

Siamo ancora al PCB!

Non disperare Adslinkato «Μία χελιδὼν ἔαρ οὐ ποιεἶ» tradotta letteralmente ; Un'unica rondine non fa primavera...:D

Ah ah ah...
Li abbiamo pure pagati in anticipo... :D

Dear backers,
We know all of you are eager to receive your Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO, and you have had the most patience possible for us throughout this process, for which we cannot be more grateful.
We want to make an incredible product to capture your amazing experiences and accomplishing everything that we want hasn't been easy. We are posting the update a little bit later this time because we would like to get you a more informative update on the quality testing on the PCB.
As mentioned earlier, we are testing it in a lot of ways in order to ensure it is a hundred time better than the prototypes in the campaign and we meant it. After the first quality testing, we are suggested by the ESS team on minor changes. Hence, we have made improvements on it and there goes the second time of the quality testing on the PCB. This is why the update has been posted late because all the while we are waiting for the result to be out in order to publish you this good news!
We are glad to let you know that the PCB is wrapping up the rigorous testing and are looking very great! It is indeed our great pleasure to let you know that the Audio DAC Performance met the grade of Hi-Fi.
We know that pictures are worth a thousand words and here you go:

We will update you again on the delivery date once we have everything done.

Dear Backers,
First off, we're really sorry for the delay. We wanted to ensure we got this right for you and for a whole series of reasons our best intentions kept being thwarted. It has always been difficult to give you a precise shipping date because the project is very complex and there have often been bumps in the road.
The past six months have seen us carry out endless testing, fine tuning the analog audio for the best performance, enhancing the firmware from different perspective... The final design has finally been confirmed. And now, we are well on our way to trial run and full production.
Turns out when you are making over hundreds of something, the process changes a little bit.
Currently, we are experiencing a shortage of some high quality components for analog audio. However, we are not going to sacrifice the quality of these high graded analog audio components by replacing them with substandard components just to ramp up the shipping pace. We hope you understand that our goal is to ensure you benefit from the highest-quality, best-tailored components throughout your Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO.
You want our Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO NOW and YES we know we know! We are unable to give you a precise shipping date. Yet, we are confident to assure you that the approximate shipment date will be earliest the end of May to mid of June. The delivery timeline is mostly driven by the time it takes to get these components. Nonetheless, we too, cannot wait to get these in your hands, start testing and get your feedback!
P/S: For backers who wish to change your shipping address, do drop us a message in inbox.
Lastly, we want to thank those who have been patiently waiting, written us personally and posted kind comments on Kickstarter in regards to some of the delays. You've been an encouragement to us as we chug along through the process of recognizing issues, making changes, and course-correcting when needed. We're very lucky to have such a fantastic group of backers. THANK YOU.
