Il confronto (civile) e la curiosità sono il sale della conoscenza.
Rispetto anche io totalmente il tuo punto di vista.
Il grandissimo vantaggio che hai però tu rispetto molti altri lettori è che hai tutti gli apparecchi (e un signor impianto) per poter fare in modo oggettivo (con un buon amico che cambi le sorgenti senza dirtelo) questi confronti che sono di sicuro utili a tutti.
Durante le mie ricerche per la sorgente (a me) ideale li ho fatti ed ho condiviso il mio personalissimo e soggettivo parere.
Di certo una voce in più, concorde o dissonante che sia non importa, non potrebbe che alimentare il sapere comune.

Ci possono essere "FORSE" differenze nella decodifica in PCM , ma pure qua algoritmo è sempre lo stesso sia hardware che software quindi è quasi impossibile(qualche decimale nella formula ).
Informatica non è una scienza da testare ad occhi chiusi ma scherziamo!

ho effettuato il preordine a fine ottobre con spedizione prevista entro i primi di dicembre e oggi mi è arrivata questa "simpaticissima" email:
Buongiorno.
CloudMedia ha spostato la data di consegna dell'A-500 pro a causa di ritardi sulle linee di produzione.
Ci hanno confermato, al momento, la possibilità di ritirare la merce per la seconda metà di gennaio 2016.
Questo implica che, considerato i tempi tecnici per trasporto e sdoganamento, noi saremo in grado di consegnare il prodotto nel corso del mese di febbraio
Siamo spiacenti per il disagio arrecato e consapevoli che si tratta di un ritardo molto consistente. Il produttore assicura che il tempo in più che si è preso
è stato utilizzato per ottimizzare il prodotto e garantire un'esperienza all'altezza di un prodotto di fascia alta dal quale ci aspettiamo tutti ottimi risultati.
Qualora però desiderasse rinunciare all'acquisto, in qualsiasi momento potrà richiederci il rimborso totale della somma versata e l'annullamento dell'ordine e dell'adesione all'offerta di prevendita.
In caso contrario il suo ordine continuerà ad avere priorità assoluta e la terremo informata su eventuali cambiamenti di programma appena ne saremo a consocenza.

Quanto mi dispiace per questo ritardo molto consistente.In teoria per un Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO "Se così fosse," che se ne riparlerà a marzo inoltrato...quindi, Primavera 2016 - E qualche primo lettore da tavolo BD UHD 4K disponibile , si puo' immaginare una deviazione forma di investimento..“Valore a rischio”...:D

Gli occhi puoi pure tenerli chiusi ma le orecchie sarebbe meglio tenerle aperte, e magari fare qualche prova prima di appellarsi a teorie che hanno senso, e qui dici bene, solo con l'informatica.
Sul PCM convertito è palese ottenere risultati diversi. Parlo di flusso dati (DD, DTS, DSD e relativi parenti).

ha poco senso tornare sull'argomento, specie se non sprechi un paio di ore a cercare di fare qualche prova pratica.
Però..
Se sei davvero così convinto delle tue teorie mettiamo pure sul piatto qualche decina di banconote a 2 zeri... sul mio impianto (potrei rendere la cosa ancora più ridicola chiedendo all'amico kaio di farlo sul suo, ma il già mio, molto meno estremo, basta ed avanza purtroppo) VTEN VS OPPO103EU con file scelto da me preso dallo stesso NAS su ethernet GB. Tutto passante su HDMI in streaming dati. Il cavo HDMI del VTEN lo puoi pure scegliere tu, anche se -secondo le tue teorie- dovrebbe essere pure quello ininfluente, vero?.
Primo ascolto sulle 2 sorgenti sapendo cosa suona e poi 10 DIECI cambi di sorgente a tuo piacimento.
Se alla cieca li indovino TUTTI e 10 vinco io altrimenti al primo errore vinci tu.
Se vuoi mettere alla prova le tue teorie, guadagnandoci pure un bel gruzzolo se fossero vere, hai la tua occasione per vedere se reggono alla dura prova dei fatti.
Va da sé che se non accetti (o finché non accetti e vinci) sarebbe gradito quantomeno un silente beneficio del dubbio senza doversi sorbire ulteriori tue eleganti incursioni teorico-informatiche.
Se vinci naturalmente mi impegno, oltre a pagare il dovuto, a scusarmi con te, con Claude Shannon, con AVS e con chi tu vuoi pubblicamente in questo Forum.
Per ora invece mi scuso con tutti per l'OT, ma quando ce vò ce vò... :)

Here are some updates for you.
To build you the best media player with great analog sound, we are currently working hard with the ESS Team to fine tune the analog audio for the best performance.
The hardware is able to support 192kHz sampling rate over coaxial S/PDIF at this moment. On top of that, we have decided to include Power Switch at the back panel for your convenience! On the shipment, we will release an update soon once we have got the final hardware confirmed.

Cercherò pure di stare calmo, anche perché mi sembra ormai chiaro che non ci potrò giocherellare sotto l'albero, ma direi che sono ormai chiari alcuni fatti:
1) i nostri soldi sono serviti a progettare l'A-500, piuttosto che l'A-500 pro;
2) più che l'ovvia (anche se tale non sembra essere) presenza del pulsante di spegninento (la spdif a 192kHz, invece, è una caratteristica di autentica eccellenza, purché ci sia compatibilità con l'apparecchio ricevente), avrei approfittato dello stop per implementare caratteristiche più succose, considerata la fase di transizione;
3) la pletora di nuovi firmware usciti in questi ultimissimi tempi per il Chameleon e il V-TEN mi sembra che possa preludere ad un primo firmware di questo A-500 pro molto stabile;
4) sono bravissimi, ma sempre poco organizzati: peccato. |

Well, here we are – it’s one day to Christmas! Even when we’ve been quiet, it has been you we’ve been working hard to develop a good outcome for. As you may have predicted from the last few updates, we have run into some turbulence and won’t be able to ship just yet. We know, it sucks, and although we did everything we could to stay ahead of the game, it just wasn’t enough. There were just too many surprises and things outside of our control.
Our goal, from day one, has been to ensure that Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO users benefit from the highest-quality, best-tailored components throughout their devices. That commitment runs parallel to our dedication to ensuring you get the best possible results each and every time you put Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO to work.
The development of a Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO that achieves these goals took longer than we initially expected. Regardless of the challenges, it wasn’t something we are willing to outsource.
We are now re-laying out the PCB for the best quality of the analog audio. The fine tuning of the layout of PCB is estimated to be done by end of next week. Then, it will be sent for fabrication until the mid of January 2016. After that, we will be doing quality testing (the final one) and we will have a trial production at the end of January. We work with the ESS team to perform the testing again and again and again before the device is place in the box to ship to you. We can assure you the Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO that we are testing now is great in a lot ways. Certainly a hundred time better than the prototypes in the campaign.
As the China site will be having Chinese New Year holidays on the beginning of February, we will be shipping the Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO to you approximately at the end of February (provide if all goes smoothly).
We apologize once again for any inconvenience. We hope you’ll understand that quality in terms of both final results (analog audio quality) and ease of use – remains our number-one priority. We wanted to build our own media player with great analog sound so we could feel confident in the quality, and we were not willing to compromise on that commitment. Again, we apologize and reaffirm our dedication to delivering the highest-quality, most cost-efficient and user friendly analog sound media player possible. We want to make sure Popcorn Hour A-500 PRO is everything you expected and more.
