http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/Support/M6500AFirmware.aspx
Date:2008-03-05 1.1.44
Release Note
Changes from v1.1.21 (The version inside the initial shipped product)
TViX should be booted freshly before firmware upgrade for safer upgrade.
This firmware is for M-6500A only
1. Embedded subtitle support in MKV file has been stabilized.
(No image subtitle support yet)
2. Stutter when watching 24Hz movies with 24Hz output fixed.
3. Some bugs related to DTV scheduled recording have been fixed.
4. Wavepack support added (Still need more testing)
APE is not working yet.
WMA lossless is not supported (We are checking whether we can
implement this)
5. 1000M(Giga) bit option in Network setting has been added.
You need CAT6 cable to connect M-6500A to Gigabit HUB.
We find high bit HD content plays fine with SMB connection when it
stutters with 10/100 connection.
But it will play fine with NFS(Netshare or Linux PC) even with 10/100.
The result may vary depends on the LAN environment.
Even though we used Gigabit LAN chip, the performance is slightly better than 10/100.
So, we do not advertize M-6500A as Gigabit device.
You can check the LAN mode by the LED light on the LAN JACK.
10/100 : Green
Giga : Yellow
6. Factory Default menu added in the configuration MENU.
7. Added Luminance Level menu
- Auto/ 0 –255/ 16-235
When Auto, it will follow the information that Display device sends through HDMI.
8. Not supporting USB external DVD(CD)-ROM bug fixed
9. Problem when copying from TViX to PC using TViX as SAMBER server fixed.
Known problems and issues
1. Trick play and audio change problems still exists when playing tp(ts,m2ts..) files or large AVI files.
2. JPEG slide show and music play enhancement is under development.
3. Content with AAC audio play has some problems.
4. TrueHD and DTS HD MA pass though using HDMI is under development.
5. There is a report on compatibility with USB external storage.
6. M-6500A can be overheated and fail to work when used without installing HDD inside.
This is the problem of air flow. We are sorry but please insert HDD as dummy.
We are preparing a dummy structure that will make air flow better without the HDD.
This will be factory inserted when it is ready.
7. Some DVDs will crash when you do DVD menu navigation using DVD Juke box feature(ISO, IFO play)
8. IFO file play stutters when playing through network using Netshare. Using SAMBA is OK.
9. m3u file playing does not work now.
10. Wrong length of MP3 VBR.
11. Some USB storage device does not work with TVIX.
There is no end in sight on the amount of complains on the clock issues and heat problems. Yesterday, another bombshell has been dropped on DViCo land after several consumers found out "KJGlobal" is talking about a "V2" version with "improved mechanical performance over the old units" which are hardly a few weeks old. Alerted by members, we took direct action in gathering necessary information by mailing KJGlobal, DViCo and our partner distributors in Europe. All parties have answered and cleared up everything concerning the "V2" TViX M-6500A" which reveals: "there is none". The reference made by KJGlobal was mainly to announce the second batch arrival of the TViX M-6500A. KJGlobal had been told DViCo have tried correcting some issues based on production and design bugs in the new batch but which changes have been made (soft or hardware) are unknown and we are pending info from DViCo. Click on "Read More" for more info from DViCo.
DViCo stated it has found some production bugs and corrected these in the newer batches and claims all issues are resolved except the "heat issues". This basically means the clock issue is expected to be resolved (unconfirmed). The newly produced players will be reworked with these latest changes and will slightly differ from the first batch. DViCo strongly expressed internal discussion is ongoing today and we will be informed of the outcome afterwards. DViCo wants to make clear it will not leave current consumers without any proper action to resolve their issues.
That said, I would like to call upon all of you to remain calm, not take drastic measures or cause more heat on the forums. Solutions are being discussed and will be provided in short term. I guess you have to trust us we are working on a resolution and the lesser time spent on the forums calming people down, the more progress we can make in the field. Until then, the heat issues can be resolved by dummy HDD, the clock issue can be resolved by powering the unit 2-3 minutes a day if you need scheduled recording. We are aware this does not help if you are on holidays or leave a few days but for now this will have to do until we can agree on a resolution that DViCo can provide.
We hope with our last efforts to clarify the situation everyone is up to date with what is happening now and next. If any new info comes in, we will inform you and if any actions need to be taken eventually for getting the issues resolved for you, we will organize this by any acceptable means possible. In the end, the V2 is referred to as second batch in which some production bugs have been corrected which might have caused the clock issues to be done with (unconfirmed).
