Le due console sono uscite in tempi diversi quindi non si possono confrontare i dati di vendita e a maggior ragione dire che questi dimostrino l'orientamento dei consumatori riguardo la visione di film.
I dati sono invece confrontabilissimi, basta vedere le vendite *mensili*.
A parte il Giappone, dove la Xbox praticamente non esiste (e comunque ci basta vedere il Wii per capire che dare un lettore di film assieme alla console non è così importante) le vendite USA di Settembre, ad esempio, vedono la 360 in testa di poco davanti al Wii grazie all'uscita di Halo3, *ennesima* prova che la visione dei film conta fino ad un certo punto, sono i giochi che fanno le vendite vere. La PS3 è sempre stata al terzo posto, come pure lo è sempre stata in TUTTI i mesi in cui tutte e 3 le console sono state contemporaneamente sul mercato.

Ovviamente non sono la *stessa* identica cosa, ma mi sembrava, ma sicuramente SONO un prezzo molto aggressivo per chi compra la console ed è anche interessato ai film.

Ovviamente non è "irrisorio" in termini assoluti, ma a CONFRONTO di regalare l'hardware, oggi, fine 2007, COSTA MENO.
Comunque, la notizia è stata già smentita. E c'era d'aspettarselo, è impensabile che annuncino adesso una versione della console che uscirà fra 1 anno.

Ulteriori conferme per il rumor dell'anno. Dopo le fonti interne a Toshiba riportate da Smarthouse, è il turno di CNBC:
CNBC rivela che secondo fonti interne a Microsoft Bill Gates annuncerà la Xbox 360 con il lettore HD DVD integrato ed il sintonizzatore TV HD al prossimo Consumer Electronic Show di Gennaio, durante il suo keynote.

Microsoft's Xbox: Coming Soon With HD-DVD?

Sources I'm talking to at the company suggest that an announcement could come soon that Microsoft will unveil a new version of Xbox 360 featuring a built-in HD-DVD player and HD tuner. The device might be officially unveiled during Bill Gates' keynote at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in January, which could be a bummer since it misses this upcominhg holiday shopping season.
It's true you can already play HD-DVD's through the Xbox but you need another device to plug in. Microsoft sells that player for $179, but it's not clear that the new Xbox360HD will simply be $179 more than the current Xbox 360 without it. Consumers might be getting a break if they buy the all-in-one unit.
I haven't heard pricing yet: details to come. But the blogs are all over this. Several analyst firms I talked with this morning say an HD version of Xbox wasn't expected until mid-to late 2008, so anything earlier would be a surprise.
All the hub-bub began with a story in the Australian publication, "Smarthouse," after comments it had gotten from an executive at Toshiba. But The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says no new Xbox is coming after what sound like pretty definitive comments it had gotten from Microsoft; that maybe Microsoft will license its technology to Toshiba for a new kind of all-in-one player/recorder/game-player/HD thingy. Intriguing.
We've placed several calls into the company seeking official comment. Some folks are looking into it; others haven't returned the calls yet. But the folks I'm talking to off-the-record say an announcement is coming.
This could be a big deal for both Microsoft and the HD-DVD movement. Microsoft has already seen a significant pop in Xbox console sales in the wake of the Halo 3 release. In fact, some market research suggests that sales have tripled normal volume. That makes sense since as we've reported there are about 2.5 million Xboxers still playing the game on older consoles, who have not traded up to the new 360. Halo 3 was widely expected to get them to do so.
At the same time, back at the Digital Life Expo, we detailed how HD-DVD was outselling Blu-Ray on laptops by better than 8-1. It stands to reason that laptop users who have onboard HD-DVD would also want that same format at home.
Now that Microsoft is making it even easier for consumers to use the format in such a popular game-player, this is more bad news for Blu-Ray, and of course its primary backer, Sony [SNE 46.04 -0.23 (-0.5%) ] , which makes that competing platform available in PlayStation. All of this becomes much more important in Microsoft's grander plan of using the Xbox to invade the living room. A kind of Trojan Horse. An all-in-one digital entertainment hub masquerading as a game-player.
McAdams Wright Ragen in Seattle expects Microsoft to realize a year-over-year 35% gain in its Entertainment Device Division, to $1.4 billion. Halo 3 is widely viewed as the lynch-pin to getting this beleaguered unit into the black. An all-in-one game-player/HD-DVD player could help even more.
Microsoft reports its earnings on Thursday and I'll preview the expectations--which seem to be gaining a lot of momentum--in an upcoming post.

Notizia molto interessante questa per la cordata HDDVD Group anche se non vorrei che fosse un pò troppo tardi. Non ho mai capito la necessità dell'uscita della versione elite senza lettore integrato (che poi tanto elite non è). Chissà sia la volta buona ma dovrebbero però secondo me accelerare i tempi di uscita della macchina se non vorranno trovarsi troppo indietro. Uscire nei negozi nel 2009 mi sembra essere un pò troppo in là! Bisogna ammettere che ora come ora la ps3 a 399 è molto allettante e questo permetterà una rapida diffusione del concorrente Blu ray in modo davvero significativo. Speriamo bene...:confused:
P.S. Questa console in veste completa dovrebbe essere la vociferata versione Ultimatum che tempo fa circolava in rete? Se così fosse davvero dovrebbe essere l'ultima versione della 360.....:eek:

Be come sony ha detto che in futuro la ps3 poteva diventare un sistema con tv e registrazione su hard disk, stessa cosa potrebbe essere questo progetto microsoft. In pratica usare la base della 360 per un sistema audio video completo, avendo quindi hd-dvd sintonizzatore tv, hdd recorder e ip-tv. In pratica un media center di ultima generazione. Credo che sia una buona idea, anche se da noi, non han mai preso piede questo genere di cose, magari è la volta buona. nel frattempo magari l'ip tv potrebbe cominicare a crescere e sia i segnali tv hd che gli hd dvd si diffonderanno un po di più.
