Can DVI go beyond 4.5m (15 feet)?
Yes. The initial specification for DVI (Digital Visual Interface) states this length as the maximum poosible distance to meet full specifications and criteria. However, experience shows that for instance full resolution HDTV, 1280x720, easily can be transferred longer. It is not unusual to use cables up to 15m (50 feet) without any problems whatsoever. It must be noted that functionality is strongly dependent also on the quality of the source output, as well as the cable in question.
