Cary Audio Cinema 11a + 11v o proc. video esterno...

Ciao a tutti, vorrei sapere che ne pensare del pre HT solo audio in oggetto (11a). Secondo me è un prodotto interessantissimo perché gestisce SOLO l'audio, con le prese hdmi passanti per il video, da inviare al Cimena 11v (suo ideale compagno perché proc. video della stessa serie) oppure ad un differente proc. video.

I componenti interni mi paiono di prima qualità, le recensioni oltreoceano piuttosto entusiastiche...In questo modo si avrebbe un prodotto in grado di decodificare tutti i formati audio con possibilità di sostituire in futuro soltanto il proc. video, con ulteriore riparo dall'obsolescenza...

Insomma, nel mio immaginario prende il posto del Bryston SP2... voi che ne dite?

A parte il fatto che averlo a 3.500$, prezzo di listino USA, contro i 4.490 Euro di listino italiano (pur se con il telecomando della zona 2 incluso) sarebbe tutt'altra cosa...;)

P.S.: questo pre è stato provato sull'ultimo numero di AfDigitale riscuotendo un notevole successo, anche se non è il 10 in audio di questa rivista ad intrigarmi, io seguivo questo prodotto già da tempo...;)

Un combo di prodotti molto interessanti... dal parto molto difficile (soprattutto il 11v) e che seguivo da tempo anche io.. (giusto per curiosità).

Si riescono a trovare intorno ai 3500 euro in Inghilterra.

Però.. è molto interessante il Cinema 11a da solo, se non interessa la parte video. Mentre in combinazione con il Cinema 11v arriviamo ad una fascia di prezzo che mi farebbe propendere per l'Anthem D2v2 (più costoso) o il AVM50 (meno caro).

Certo rimane la grande flessibilità dell'avere i componenti separati...

Aggiungo che, da quanto ho letto su AVSforum, sul Cinema 11a la funzione di autoEQ pare decisamente meno performante del sistema ARC-1 in dotazione ai processori Anthem.

Infatti anche secondo me la scelta ideale sarebbe l'11a in combinazione con un proc. video esterno molto performante, anche perché in quest'ultimo caso ci sarebbe molta più scelta oltre alla possibilità di acquistare nell'usato...;)

In questo caso si risparmierebbe parecchio rispetto ad un D2v2 (che resta il riferimento tra i pre), con maggiore flessibilità. E'vero che il proc. video del D2v2 è già pronto per l'aggiornamento al 4k, però chissà poi come verrà implementato (v. 24fps, deep color, ecc.. dei Blu-Ray), poi c'è il 3D, poi chissà cos'altro ancora...Nonostante l'esemplare (e praticamente unica) politica di customer's care della Anthem che fin dal D1 ha sempre garantito l'aggiornamento del processore non so se lo stesso sarà aggiornabile per sempre...Insomma, sicuramente la possibilità di sostituire in toto il proc. video, recuperando anche qualcosina dalla vendita, dà maggiori garanzie...;)

Comunque di sicuro mi piacerebbe molto vedere un confronto audio tra questo pre, l'Anthem D2v2 ed il nuovo Bryston...:)

P.S.: Che il sistema di calibrazione automatica del Cary non sia a livello del resto l'ho letto anch'io...Sarà che questo non mi spaventa perché io da questo punto di vista sono piuttosto rustico, essendo abituato all'analogico...:)

Ora che mi hai rinfrescato l'argomento... devo dire che leggo cose mirabolanti sulle qualità audio del Cinema 11a.

Insomma.. sicuramente da tenere d'occhio...;)

E il pre Denon come andrebbe "collocato" rispetto ai prodotti citati?
Considerato che il prezzo di listino dell' AVP A1 HD si aggira intorno ai 7000 Euro...

Da un pò di giorni anch'io ci sto pensando seriamente nell'ottica di un futuro secondo impianto mirato principlamente alla qualità musicale, il Pre ha il voltaggio in ingresso selezionabile, potrebbe essere acquistato negli USA ad un prezzo interessante.
Mi piacciono molto anche i finali della stessa serie Cinema di Cary, pensavo ad esempio di abbinarlo al Cinema 5 + Cinema 2 o direttamente al nuovo Model 7.125 :D

sto valutando anche questo Cary 11a...ero orientato per la verità su un Bryston SP2 (usato ovviamente) perchè a detta di tutti come pre in analogico (la decodifica la farei fare all'oppo) ha ben pochi concorrenti se si considera la versatilità multicanale/stereo...però l'sp2 ha "solo" 5+1 ingressi analogici a differenza del cary che addirittura ne ha una coppia di 7.1...certo sono ancora un po' indeciso...come andrà il cary in 2ch ?

Cary Audio claims “extraordinary sound quality.” Given its price tag and minimal video-switching facilities, I hoped it would deliver as promised. And it did. That was true of the new lossless formats, decoded PCM audio, and the 5.1-channel passthrough of multichannel SACD.
With music, the Cinema 11a produced a notably tight attack, a pleasingly long sustain, and a clean, prolonged decay from instruments. I’m curious to see if our measurements indicate whether the nuanced sustain and decay abilities I heard might be a testament to its claimed ultra-low noise floor being the real deal. Compared with mediocre electronics that can sound hollow or edgy, the Integra is pretty good. Its sins are sins of omission. Still, it can’t compare with the Cinema 11a’s ability to sort out and clarify individual instruments on the soundstage, both phy-sically and harmonically. On good recordings, instruments and voices sounded more real and less like vague reproductions. With its sure attack, the Cinema 11a rendered transients like guitar plucks, cymbal hits, keyboard strokes, bass drum thwacks, and vocal sibilants cleanly. They didn’t sound soft, vague, or overly sharp.

Low-level detail resolution was on par with what topquality two-channel gear can provide. Microdynamic resolution (a surround processor’s ability to distinguish small shifts in dynamic expression at the lowest levels) separates the illusion of live music from the cardboard-cutout variety. With the Cinema 11a, it impressed me. Of course, macrodynamic performance was equally fine. You want explosive explosions? The Cinema 11a delivers.

If you want to hear orchestral crescendos with full power and weight, the Cinema 11a delivers that too. Some years back, Telarc issued a demo-only multichannel hybrid SACD of Jerry Goldsmith movie and television score medleys. The Film Music of Jerry Goldsmith was recorded at Abbey Road by the great Bruce Botnick and is now available commercially. If you like spectacular surround sound and Goldsmith’s scores (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown, Dr. Kildare, The Waltons), I suggest you pick up this disc. The Cinema 11a reproduced the mightiest crescendos with total composure. The DHC-9.9 turned them into mush. Pleasing mush, but still mush.

Getting a well-recorded piano to sound convincing is one of the most difficult tasks for an audio system. The Cinema 11a managed it extremely well on some RCA Living Stereo three-track SACDs that I’ve been using for years as a music benchmark. The Cinema 11a correctly reproduced the felt hammers’ particular soft percussive strike, the sounding board’s wiry response, and the wooden chassis’ rich resonance. It also communicated the subtlest foot pedal shifts that the DHC-9.9 completely glossed over.

The Cinema 11a produced deep, tight, properly sized low bass, with harmonic structure intact. Electric and double bass popped appropriately. The result was rhythm, pacing, and excitement that lesser gear simply doesn’t manage. The midrange was airy and well textured; it produced lush, feathery, massed strings. The high frequencies were delicate, but they had enough bite to avoid sounding soft and bland.

As with all well-designed audio gear, the Cinema 11a sounded equally good playing loudly and at very low levels. When you combine that with its clarity and control, you can be sure its ability to clearly reproduce the human voice provided exceptional dialogue intelligibility. While the Cinema 11a was in my system, I never strained to understand movie or TV dialogue. Once the DHC-9.9 returned, I needed to constantly adjust the levels in response to soundtrack volume and background sound effects distractions.

The Cinema 11a offers a level of sophisticated sonic performance typical of top-quality two-channel audio. In my experience, it’s far less common in multichannel gear, and commercial manufacturers rarely achieve it. Certainly, no A/V receiver I’ve ever heard comes close, and my reference surround processor doesn’t either—and it’s pretty good.

interessante...e quale finale/finali abbineresti ? sempre cary cinema ?

Momentaneamente, dato che mi trovo veramente molto bene già così, lo collegherei mediante 6 cavi di ottima qualità (tipo Audioquest Colorado) al mio Marantz Premium AV-SR 14; in questo modo sfrutterei il mio sinto (mediante le main-in) come se fosse un finale da 140X5 W...

P.S.
Di finali ne ho sentiti parecchi, ma il mio Marantz mi ha dato sempre qualcosa in più in ambito musicale...

Un domani potrei scegliere tra:
Anthem Statement A5 (purtroppo non il P5 dato che consuma più di 3600W)
Halo by Parasound A51
Cary Audio 7.250

avrei la possibilità di prenderlo in usa...un ex-demo da rivenditore autorizzato a 2790 dollari...più il finale cinema 7B (7 canali) a 1200 dollars...entrambi settati a 220V prima di essere spediti...ovviamente andrebbero aggiunte spese di spedizione e dogana...che dite ? vado ? :)
