There is a connector on one of the circuit boards inside the iScan which consists of a double row of pins. A mating connector on the SDI board plugs into these pins. There is also a small metal plate on the rear of the iScan which must be removed (via a pair of screws) to accommodate the BNC connector used for the connection to the SDI cable.

Yes, it will have instructions. No soldering is required. Outside of standard ESD issues (which are easily dealt with), there should be no significant risk to the circuit boards.
Installation of the SDI upgrade to the iScan HD is much different than installing an SDI output modification in a DVD player. The iScan has been designed from the beginning to accept the SDI receiver module, while the typical DVD player has not. Because of this, soldering be done inside the DVD player to connect to video and power signals which, on the iScan, are located on a connector that the SDI module simply plugs into. No soldering is required on the iScan.

ed essendo già cliente ho avuto un coupon di sconto da cento verdoni :D
L'ingresso DVI è uno solo in quanto sul pannello posteriore c'è necessità di spazio per il modulo SDI.
La richiesta di due ingressi per bypassare lo switcher era giunta da diversi clienti ma fisicamente non sanno dove metterli perchè la struttura slim limita lo spazio disponibile.
