Product Description

Sarah Wolfe was the only living survivor from the massacre at the Vanacutt Mansion, but no one believed her claims that ghosts were responsible for the gruesome murders that took place there. Now her recent and questionable suicide leaves her sister, Ariel, no choice but to devote herself to finding out who - or what - was responsible for her death. Ariel discovers that Sarah sent her the diary of the sadistic Dr. Vanacutt just before she died, offering clues to the diabolical evil that resides within the house. But the diary also makes Ariel a target in a deadly treasure hunt that leads a group of unwitting victims back to the Vanacutt Mansion, reawakening the terror imprisoned within the house on the hill. This time, the house and the evil spirits inside are out to make sure that no one leaves alive.

And putting it to rest. Wow!! This is one of those sequels that fully justify its existence.Kind of rare in some forms of Horror, and not what I was expecting in the HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL style. About all I missed in this film was the very stylised jerky ghost moves that characterised the first film. Whilst the Barebones structure of the plot of the search for the Statue, the Quest of Dr Richard Hammer, holds the film together, the carefully detailed death scenes spook the daylights out of anyone watching. There is no commentary in this disc. However, the confessional elements in the features are very unique and cover some different ground in this style of supernatural splatter-fest. And once again, this disc proves that the UNRATED format is the Gold standard.

Now I remember watching this 14 years ago but it's been that long. If you're a big fan of horror films I rather see the unrated version, this is the Rated R version. The unrated version shows more gore to it. Hopefully I'll able to see the unrated version later but no wonder this doesn't really make me jump more than a few times but I enjoy watching the goriest scenes. That makes it more interesting and love about this film. It's an okay film for the most part. I admit it's cheap and the storyline is terrible but that makes a good successful horror film. Great performance and role by Jeffrey Combs. Highly recommended.

This is kind of what was possible and manufacturer's thought was important when Blu-Ray (and HD-DVD, oddly enough) came out. A theatrical movie, that was on DVD a choose your own adventure movie.
The fact that this is the only live action movie I've found that does this.... definitely 5 stars!

Basic 2000s bad horror movie. There is a nonsensical plot, bad acting and terrible 2000s CG affects, which are all completely overshadowed by Jeffrey Combs not speaking a word.

Film unique. La suite si rare de la maison des horreurs. Dire que certains vendent ça une fortune au marché parallèle, alors qu'avec Amazon. Le tarif est sans arnaque

4.0 out of 5 stars Some ripping scenes in this Haunted House Horror
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2015
Bought with some birthday money with a bunch of other £3 or less BDs I hadn't seen this film before. I'm lucky with this purchase as I really enjoyed it. Only one scene where they find the "Heart" of the house kind of spoiled it for me but modern horror films tend to have a nod scene to that classic cheesy feel some of the Greats have and this scene for me was it. Never mind. Though some of the acting was a bit flat and I felt the editing could have shortened some scenes a little to make it a bit more edgy Return to House on Haunted Hill is a great horror flick. There are some great Death scenes and some nice audio/image scenes of the flashbacks to how the patients were treated. I love audio and I love cool imagery so maybe this went a long way to me enjoying the movie. Don't expect a block buster and you should be quite satisfied with this Horror.

There is also a cool bonus item on this BD where you can decide who lives and who dies. When you load the disc for the first time you are presented with a screen giving you the option to "Watch the Directors version" or "Watch your version". Of course I watch the Directors version first but might get round to having a play with the 96 different scenarios and play the Grim Reaper myself one day
