As others have said, the actual remote control is not exactly a work of art - badly designed and unresponsive, which really makes you think of it as being next to useless. However, that's not why you ought to buy this - you ought to buy this for the IR dongle that you plug into your PS3 and to use the rubbish remote once (and only once) to program your universal remote so that all of your kit is still controlled via a single remote.

As it turns out one of my universal remote's in-built set of IR codes for a Sony DVD player actually worked all of the transport commands (play, FF, chapter+-, etc), and all I had to was teach it the cursor control and a couple of others - the whole process took less than 10 minutes and the Logic remote is now buried in a drawer. The universal remote also now works the main PS3 menu screens, so as long as the PS3 is turned on you can browse through the menus, go to the PS3 store, etc., all from the comfort of one remote control

This is extremely poorly made and the remote is useless. However, it's very good to use with infra-red universal remotes such as the Logitech Harmony series.

It is now known by the Logitech Harmony database so just add a new device called "Logic3 PS3 Remote" and you'll all set.

The product isn't always responsive, it hasn't failed me yet but I feel better off using the controller anyway. The entire thing feels very tacky too. I regret buying it, the Sony controller works better.

Remote doesn't work at all. Although it could be the USB, but how am I to know? Bought to use with the Logitech universal controller, but that doesn't work either.

It cost so little I really can't be bothered to waste my time sending it back to Amazon.

First time I've reviewed something on here. Why on earth can't we give 0 star?

If you are buying this kit, please bear in mind that the supplied handset is next to useless, the sensor however is great so it depends on what use you have in mind as to whether this is worth buying. If you want to buy a remote to use 'as is' then I would recommend you pay the extra for the Sony Bluetooth remote as all the infra-red kits on the market are all crap & practically unusable. But if you want a remote system that can be programmed into a infra-red Learning remote then this does the job fine. If your learning remote has an online database then you will find the Logic-3 remote codes readily available & a doddle to use. If you need to learn head to head then it will take you about 10 to 20 attempts per button to get a usable code out of the original handset, but once programmed it will again work fine. The only drawbacks using infra-red instead of Bluetooth are that you cannot power on or off & you cannot start BBC iPlayer playback as this requires an analogue controller to select the play button, but these can be lived with for the bonus of using your own system remote.

this is a terrible control, it does not work it will only let us use one button and you have to hold it down for ages. i thought it would make life easier but no!

I bought this for the IR dongle, as I have a Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote and use PS3 to play Blu-ray titles. There is already a profile for this remote available for Harmony remote. So you dont have to do anything time comsuming like teaching Harmony. Just select Sony PS3 Logic 3 remote.

I found the remote slow to respond. You can not switch off the ps3.Otherwise this is an excellent product if you want just the IR dongle to programme your universal remote

Horrible little unit ... Not at all official. Look for the real Sony one instead. I bought it years ago but left it in the packaging because it was so pathetic

1.0 out of 5 stars pas vraiment pratique.
